Twins Select Contracts of Dillon Gee & Trevor Hildenberger

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have selected the contracts of right-handed pitchers Dillon Gee and Trevor Hildenberger from Triple-A Rochester.

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have selected the contracts of right-handed pitchers Dillon Gee and Trevor Hildenberger from Triple-A Rochester.
To make room on the 40-man roster for Gee and Hildenberger, the Twins have designated left-handed pitcher Mason Melotakis and right-handed pitcher Alex Wimmers for release or assignment.
Gee, 31, was signed by the Twins as a minor league free agent June 22 after being designated by the Texas Rangers June 16 and elected free agency June 19. The right-hander made four appearances (1 start) for the Rangers this season posting a 4.15 ERA (13.0 IP, 6 ER) with six walks and 10 strikeouts.
Hildenberger, 26, will be looking to make his major league debut. He began the season with Triple-A Rochester going 2-1 with six saves, a 2.05 ERA (30.2 IP, 7 ER), eight walks and 35 strikeouts in 21 relief appearances.
Gee and Hildenberger will be available for tonight's game at Cleveland. Gee will wear uniform number 35 and Hildenberger will wear number 39.
