Two Minor League players suspended

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that two Minor League players have been suspended following their violations of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Colorado Rockies Minor League pitcher Luis De Avila, who is currently on the roster of the rookie-level Dominican Summer League Rockies 2, has received a 72-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Boldenone, a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Program.

Baltimore Orioles Minor League pitcher William Rios, who is currently on the roster of the Single-A Aberdeen IronBirds of the New York-Penn League, has received a 50-game suspension without pay following a second positive test for a drug of abuse in violation of the Program.
