The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that two Minor League players have been suspended following their violations of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that two Minor League players have been suspended following their violations of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
Miami Marlins Minor League right-handed pitcher Ryan Newell, who is currently on the roster of the Triple-A New Orleans Baby Cakes of the Pacific Coast League, has received an 80-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone, a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Program. The suspension of Newell will be effective at the start of the 2018 PCL season.
Seattle Mariners Minor League right-handed pitcher Jose Luis Santiago, who is currently on the roster of the Double-A Arkansas Travelers of the Texas League, has received a 140-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Drostanolone and Oxandrolone, his second violation for performance-enhancing substances in violation of the Program. The suspension of Santiago will be effective at the start of the 2018 Texas League season.
