Prior to tonight's series opener vs. Washington, the Chicago White Sox announced the following four roster moves:
Cabrera, 31, missed Chicago's weekend series at Detroit after being placed on leave on June 3. He is hitting .275 (56-204) with nine doubles, two triples, four home runs, 24 RBI and 25 runs scored this season, his second with the White Sox.
Shields, 34, was acquired on June 4 from San Diego with cash considerations in exchange for right-hander Erik Johnson and minor-league infielder Fernando Tatis Jr. He is scheduled to make his White Sox debut tomorrow night vs. the Nationals.
Coats, 26, has gone 0-5 with one walk and one hit-by-pitch in two games with the White Sox after being recalled from Charlotte on June 4. He made his major-league debut that day at Detroit. Coats is batting .335 (55-164) with 13 doubles, two triples, seven home runs, 24 RBI and 26 runs scored over 43 games with the Knights this season.
Sands, 28, is hitting .236 (13-55) with one home run and seven RBI in 24 games with the White Sox this season.
Following the moves, the White Sox 40-man roster decreases to 38.
