White Sox homestand events April 26-May 5

The Chicago White Sox announced promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming homestand vs. the Detroit Tigers, Baltimore Orioles and Boston Red Sox from April 26 through May 5 at Guaranteed Rate Field.

The upcoming homestand is highlighted by a José Abreu Silver Slugger**SM** Bobblehead giveaway, presented by Constellation, for the first 20,000 fans on Saturday, April 27 vs. Detroit. The White Sox first baseman won his second career American League Silver SluggerSM Award last season. Abreu will be presented with his award during a special pre-game ceremony on Saturday.

  • White Sox Tote Bag, presented by MLB Network, on Friday, April 26 vs. Detroit (first 20,000 fans who enter the ballpark)
  • Star Wars™ R2-D2 Bobblehead, presented by TransUnion, on Saturday, May 4 vs. Boston (first 15,000 fans who enter the ballpark)
  • Los White Sox Soccer Jersey, presented by Coca-Cola, on Sunday, May 5 vs. Boston (first 20,000 fans who enter the ballpark)

Special Appearances

  • Hip-hop artist Gashi will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Friday, April 26.
  • National TV personality and Chicago morning show host on 107.5 WGCI FM Kendra G will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Saturday, April 27.
  • Members of the pop band Timeflies will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Sunday, April 28.
  • Professional wrestler and Deerfield, Illinois native Colt Cabana will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Tuesday, April 30.
  • Beatles tribute band American English will perform the National Anthem for White Sox Beatles Night on Wednesday, May 1.
  • University of Illinois men’s basketball point guard Ayo Dosunmu will throw out the ceremonial first pitch for Illini Night on Thursday, May 2. Dosunmu is a Chicago native and attended Morgan Park High School.
  • Hall of Famer Harold Baines will be the celebrity guest bartender on Friday, May 3 in the Revolution Brewing #SoxSocial Tap Room.
  • Former White Sox pitcher Jon Garland and former White Sox outfielder Jermaine Dye will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Saturday, May 4. Dye and Garland were both members of the 2005 World Series Championship team.
  • Chicago native and singer/songwriter Sandy Redd will perform the National Anthem on Saturday, May 4. Redd competed in Season 15 of the NBC TV reality show “The Voice.”

Themes and Promotions

The first of two White Sox annual Dog Days will be held on Monday, April 29. The White Sox will continue their long history of welcoming baseball fans and their four-legged friends to the ballpark with the team’s Dog Days. Fans will receive a Sox-themed tennis ball for their canine companions by checking in through the MLB Ballpark app and picking up at the Revolution Brewing #SoxSocial Tap Room table, which will be located behind Section 163 in the Dog Zone that day. Free T-shirt Thursday, presented by the Village of Bedford Park, offers a specially designed T-shirt for the first 10,000 fans who enter the ballpark on Thursday, May 2. Additional information is available at whitesox.com/Thursdays.

Illini Night will be held on Thursday, May 2. Fans who purchase tickets at whitesox.com/illini will have early access into the ballpark to watch the White Sox take batting practice and receive a co-branded White Sox-Illini jersey.

Star Wars™ Night, presented by TransUnion, will be held on Saturday, May 4 vs. Boston. The first 15,000 fans who enter the ballpark will receive a Star Wars™ R2-D2 Bobblehead, presented by TransUnion. Additional activities include a Star Wars™ Party Shop and photo opportunities in section 159. Fans will receive a commemorative Star Wars™ pin by checking in through the MLB Ballpark app at the Revolution Brewing #SoxSocial Tap Room. 

Cinco de Mayo, presented by Coca-Cola, will be celebrated at the ballpark on Sunday, May 5. The first 20,000 fans to the ballpark will receive a Los White Sox soccer jersey, presented by Coca-Cola. The Grammy-nominated student ensemble Mariachi Herencia de México **will perform pre-game at Gate 4, as well as the National Anthem on-field before the game. Fans will receive a Sugar Skull pin by checking in through the MLB Ballpark app at the Revolution Brewing #SoxSocial Tap Room. Specially priced tickets are available at **whitesox.com/cinco.

The season’s first Kids’ Autograph Session, presented by Coca-Cola, will take place on Sunday, May 5. The first 125 kids (ages 13 and under) who enter the ballpark through the Chicago Sports Depot entrance (located near parking Lot B and Gate 5) at 11:15 a.m. will be given a wristband and directed to a special area for the autograph session. A regular game ticket is required to participate. Mobile Ticketing

Mobile tickets are the preferred method of entry to Guaranteed Rate Field. Fans are strongly encouraged to have their game tickets downloaded onto their smartphone in advance of arriving at the ballpark through the MLB Ballpark or Ticketmaster apps or online through the White Sox Account Manager page (whitesox.com/myaccount under “Account Manager”).
