White Sox honor Red Sox broadcaster Jerry Remy

The Chicago White Sox and White Sox Charities (CWSC) announced a special online charity auction in honor of Boston Red Sox broadcaster Jerry Remy, who went on medical leave to focus on his treatment after recently being diagnosed again with cancer. The former Red Sox second baseman successfully battled lung cancer in 2008, 2013 and 2017.

The Chicago White Sox and White Sox Charities (CWSC) announced a special online charity auction in honor of Boston Red Sox broadcaster Jerry Remy, who went on medical leave to focus on his treatment after recently being diagnosed again with cancer. The former Red Sox second baseman successfully battled lung cancer in 2008, 2013 and 2017.
The online auction features autographed memorabilia from notable major leaguers who played for both the Red Sox and the White Sox. It includes the following items:
·         Carl Everett autographed baseball
·         Carlton Fisk bobblehead and autographed bat
·         Jake Peavy autographed baseball
·         A.J. Pierzynski autographed bobblehead and baseball
·         Chris Sale autographed jersey and baseball
Fans can bid on items at whitesox.com/auction now through 7 p.m. CT on Sunday, September 2. A portion of proceeds from the auction will be donated in Remy's honor to the Jimmy Fund, an official charity of the Boston Red Sox that raises funds for adult and pediatric cancer care and research at Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
The White Sox take on Boston in a four-game series from August 30 through September 2 at Guaranteed Rate Field.
