White Sox place Miguel Gonzalez on 10-day DL; reinstate James Shields from DL

Prior to today's series finale at Toronto, the Chicago White Sox placed right-handed pitcher Miguel Gonzalez on the 10-day disabled list (retroactive to June 15) with A/C joint inflammation in his right shoulder. The White Sox also returned right-hander James Shields from his injury rehabilitation assignment to Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the disabled list.

Prior to today's series finale at Toronto, the Chicago White Sox placed right-handed pitcher Miguel Gonzalez on the 10-day disabled list (retroactive to June 15) with A/C joint inflammation in his right shoulder. The White Sox also returned right-hander James Shields from his injury rehabilitation assignment to Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the disabled list.
Shields, 35, is scheduled to start this afternoon's game, his first outing since April 16 at Minnesota. Shields, who made three rehab starts with Charlotte, has been on the disabled list since April 21 with a strained right lat. He is 1-0 with a 1.62 ERA (3 ER/16.2 IP) and 16 strikeouts over three starts this season, his second with the White Sox.
 
Gonzalez, 33, is 4-8 with a 5.49 ERA (48 ER/78.2 IP) over 13 starts this season, his second with Chicago.
