Prior to tonight's series opener vs. the New York Yankees, the Chicago White Sox recalled right-handed pitcher Juan Minaya from Class AAA Charlotte. He takes the roster spot of right-hander Gregory Infante, who was optioned to Charlotte following yesterday's series finale vs. Oakland.
Minaya, 26, is 1-0 with a 8.10 ERA (9 ER/10.0 IP) and 15 strikeouts over seven relief appearances with the White Sox this season. He has made 13 appearances with the Knights in 2017, going 1-0 with a 1.42 ERA (3 ER/19.0 IP), 15 strikeouts and a .236 (17-72) opponents average.
Infante, 29, is 0-0 with a 4.79 ERA (11 ER/20.2 IP) and 18 strikeouts in 19 relief appearances with the White Sox in 2017.
