HOUSTON – Prior to tonight’s game at Houston, the Chicago White Sox recalled right-handed pitcher Thyago Vieira from Class AAA Charlotte. He takes the roster spot of right-hander José Ruiz, who was optioned to Charlotte following last night’s game.

Vieira, 26, is 3-1 with a 3.31 ERA (6 ER/16.1 IP), two saves and 19 strikeouts over 13 relief appearances with the Knights this season. He has appeared in one game over his two stints with the White Sox in 2019, earning the win with 2.0 scoreless IP in game two of a doubleheader on May 1 vs. Baltimore.
