Tadeo Alejandro Osuna…younger brother of 2017 AL All-Star selection RHP Roberto Osuna and nephew of former MLB RHP Antonio Osuna…has deployed a detailed routine as he strides to the plate for each plate appearance since he was 16 years old…draws a cross on the foul line with the knob of his bat, taps his bat on his right foot and home plate, then kicks the barrel into the air and catches it…told the Dallas Morning News that he added the bat kick-flip with Single-A Down East in 2021 and has performed the pre-at-bat ritual ever since.

2025

In his age-22 season, rose two levels in the Rangers system to make his Major League debut on 5/25 at CWS and registered 63 games across three stints (5/25-7/20, 8/2-7, 8/18-end of season) with Texas, slashing .212/.313/.278/.591 (32-for-151) with two home runs and 15 RBI…also combined to hit .273/.391/.387/.778 (53-for-194) with two HR and 16 RBI across 52 Minor League games between Frisco (AA) and Round Rock (AAA)…dazzled in his first Major League Spring Training camp as a non-roster invitee, batting .429 (15-for-35) in 24 Cactus League ‘A’ games and leading the Rangers in hits and doubles (5)… began regular season with Frisco, was promoted to Round Rock on 5/13, then had his contract selected by Texas on 5/25 after Joc Pederson was placed on the IL…made his Major League debut that day at CWS (0-for-3, BB); at 22 years, 227 days old, Osuna became the third-youngest Ranger to debut in the last five seasons (beg. 2021) to only Evan Carter (21.010 on 9/8/23) and Wyatt Langford (22.134 on 3/28/24) and was the second-youngest Mexican-born player to debut for TEX in club history (Benji Gil, 20.181 on 4/5/1993)...recorded first MLB hit on 5/26 vs. TOR (single off K. Gausman) and hit first HR on 7/1 vs. BAL (off M. Bowman)…had a .145 BA (12-83) with two XBH (HR, 2B) over his first 39 MLB games but batted .294 (20-for-68) over his final 24 games of the season, including hits in three straight, nine of 10, and 14 of his final 16 games to close the campaign…led TEX in BA (.297) and OBP (.357) in the month of September…mostly operated in leftfield with TEX (40 G/30 GS), but also was used in right field (17 G/12 GS), centerfield (1 G/GS), and as the club’s designated hitter (7 G/6 GS)…did not commit an error in 65 total chances and registered two outfield assists, nabbing runners attempting to reach an extra base on 6/29 vs. SEA (Cal Raleigh, home plate) and 9/19 vs. MIA (Connor Norby, second base)…additionally, was selected as the organization’s Minor League Defender of the Month for April after converting all 67 of his total chances…in the offseason, saw action in the Mexican Pacific Winter League for the first time since 2021-22, batting .339/.486/.411/.897 (19-for-56) in 17 games with Charros de Jalisco...Osuna’s first career Major League plate appearance on 5/25 at Chicago-AL resulted in a seven-pitch walk, as he became the first Ranger in the pitch tracking era (beg. 1988) to work a walk of 7+ pitches in his first MLB PA…reached safely in each of his first seven career games from 5/25-6/1, reaching base in 10 of his 21 PA in span (4 H, 5 BB, HBP) to mark the longest career-opening on-base streak by a Ranger since Evan Carter’s franchise best 16-game streak from 9/8-25/23…despite hitting .212 in his debut season, Osuna posted a .313 on-base percentage, which ranked sixth among TEX hitters (min. 150 AB) and 13th among A.L. rookies (min. 175 PA) in 2025.

2024

Was selected as winner of the organization’s ‘Tom Grieve Minor League Player of the Year’ after batting .292/.362/.507/.869 (119-for-408) with 18 home runs, 24 doubles, 61 RBI and 36 walks in 102 games between Hickory (A+) and Frisco (AA) in 2024...finished his breakout campaign ranked among Texas farmhands (min. 300 PA) in slugging percentage (first), OPS (1st), runs (T2nd, 77) and total bases (T2nd, 207), while his 18 home runs, 61 RBI and 119 hits were all career-high marks…outfielder saw the bulk of his defensive action in centerfield (57 starts), while also seeing time in right field (24 starts) and left field (11 starts); this compared to his career trend, in which he had primarily been utilized as a corner outfielder…on 6/26 at GVL, produced the first cycle in Hickory Crawdads history, tallying a career-high five hits (5-for-5) and driving in five as part of a 13-5 ‘Dads victory…on 6/28, he was promoted to Frisco where he slashed .306/.379/.523/.902 (72-for-235) with nine home runs, three triples, 18 doubles and 32 RBI over 57 games, ranking among Texas League leaders over that span (min. 200 PA) in 2B (first), TB (T1st, 123), TOB (second, 100), BA (third), SLG (third) and OPS (third)…recorded at least one hit in 11 of his first 13 games for the RoughRiders from 6/28-7/14, hitting .340 (18-for-53) with two HR and 11 RBI in that span…batted .328 (22-for-67) with five HR and 12 RBI over his final 15 games of the ’24 campaign, logging 2+ hits in seven of those 15 outings…after the season, appeared in 25 games for the Surprise Saguaros of the Arizona Fall League and batted .306/.438/.449/.887 (30-for-98) with a league-high 22 BB… also finished among AFL’s best in hits (T2nd), doubles (T2nd, 8), runs (third, 25) and total bases (T7th, 44), and was named an AFL ‘Fall Star’. 

2023

Batted .259/.381/.385/.765 (64-for-247) in 70 games spent entirely with Hickory (A+), setting a career high in walks (46)… recorded season-long 9-game hit streak from 5/17-30, batting .400 (14-35) with one HR, two doubles and seven RBI in span… clubbed a pair of homers on 6/5 vs. BG, his only multi-homer effort of the season…spent time on 7-day Injured List from 7/4-8/29 with a shoulder injury.

2022

The 19-year-old batted .302/.378/.427/.805 (106-for-351) with nine home runs, 54 RBI, and 34 steals in 97 games across two levels of the Texas farm system: Down East (A) and Hickory (A+)…despite earning a promotion to Hickory at the end of July, still finished the season ranked among Carolina League leaders (min. 300 PA) in BA (3rd, .308), OBP (T5th, .394), OPS (6th, .845) and stolen bases (11th, 32)… made starts at all three outfield positions: 44-LF, 21-CF, 14-RF…on Injured List from 9/3-end of season (sore groin)

2021

Made his professional debut at the age of 18 over 66 games for Down East (A)…slashed .224/.349/.383/.732 (45-for-201) with 20 of his 45 hits (44.4%) going for extra bases (6 HR, 14 2B)…participated in the Rangers’ Fall Instructional League and Texas Tour games against local universities in October…appeared in 35 games for Charros de Jalisco of the Mexican Pacific Winter League, batting .273 (18-66) and recording nearly as many BB (15) as SO (18).
