A Legacy of Support: Cleveland Guardians Charities & Senate Athletic League
For decades, Cleveland Guardians Charities (CGC) has been a vital supporter of the Senate Athletic League (SAL), ensuring that every Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) student-athlete who wants to play baseball or softball can do so—without financial barriers. This commitment was especially important to Larry Dolan and the Dolan family, who established annual grants to eliminate cost as an obstacle, making the game accessible to all.
CGC’s support goes beyond funding, with investments in field renovations, equipment, and player development. Notable projects include the revitalization of historic League Park, Jim Thome All-Star Complex, CC Sabathia Field, and José Ramírez Field, preserving Cleveland’s baseball legacy while providing CMSD schools with high-quality home fields. Additionally, CGC funds scholarships, coaching resources, and training programs, equipping student-athletes and coaches with the tools to excel on and off the field.
Through this long-standing partnership, CGC and the Dolan family have created lasting opportunities for Cleveland’s young athletes. Their commitment continues to strengthen the Senate Athletic League, ensuring that baseball and softball remain a pathway to growth, leadership, and success for generations to come.
