NEW YORK -- Saturday’s game between the Guardians and Mets was postponed due to rain. The two teams will play a split doubleheader on Sunday at Citi Field, with Game 1 scheduled to begin at 1:40 p.m. ET and Game 2 scheduled for 7:10. 

In the afternoon affair, right-hander Tanner Bibee will take the mound for Cleveland. In his last start against the Angels on May 14, Bibee pitched his best game of the season, throwing 7 2/3 innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out seven. He ended up with a no-decision in a 4-3 victory.

Right-hander Shane Bieber will pitch the nightcap for Cleveland. He hopes to pitch better than he did in his last start this past Tuesday against the White Sox, in which he lasted 4 2/3 innings and allowed five earned runs on 12 hits. 

The Guardians look to rebound after losing to New York, 10-9, in 10 innings on Friday night. It was Cleveland’s fourth walk-off loss of the season.         

Fans holding paid tickets for the game originally scheduled to be played on Saturday may use them for the rescheduled game on Sunday at 1:40 p.m. 

Season Ticket Members may exchange their May 20 tickets for a 2023 regular-season game at Citi Field (excluding June 13-14 Subway Series vs. Yankees), subject to availability, up until May 21 at 10 a.m.
