Guardians-Mets postponed on Saturday; day-night doubleheader Sunday

May 20th, 2023

NEW YORK -- Saturday’s game between the Guardians and Mets was postponed due to rain. The two teams will play a split doubleheader on Sunday at Citi Field, with Game 1 scheduled to begin at 1:40 p.m. ET and Game 2 scheduled for 7:10.

In the afternoon affair, right-hander will take the mound for Cleveland. In his last start against the Angels on May 14, Bibee pitched his best game of the season, throwing 7 2/3 innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out seven. He ended up with a no-decision in a 4-3 victory.

Right-hander  will pitch the nightcap for Cleveland. He hopes to pitch better than he did in his last start this past Tuesday against the White Sox, in which he lasted 4 2/3 innings and allowed five earned runs on 12 hits.

The Guardians look to rebound after losing to New York, 10-9, in 10 innings on Friday night. It was Cleveland’s fourth walk-off loss of the season.

Fans holding paid tickets for the game originally scheduled to be played on Saturday may use them for the rescheduled game on Sunday at 1:40 p.m.

Season Ticket Members may exchange their May 20 tickets for a 2023 regular-season game at Citi Field (excluding June 13-14 Subway Series vs. Yankees), subject to availability, up until May 21 at 10 a.m.
