White Sox-Indians postponed; DH on May 31

April 21st, 2021

CLEVELAND -- The Indians and White Sox will have to wait another five weeks to officially wrap up their two-game series.

With a coating of snow covering Progressive Field, the Indians announced Wednesday afternoon that the series finale against the White Sox was postponed and would be rescheduled as a traditional doubleheader on May 31 with two seven-inning games, beginning at 3:10 p.m. ET.

The Indians’ rotation will remain in the same scheduled order with each starter getting pushed back an extra day. Aaron Civale will now start the series opener against the Yankees on Thursday, with Logan Allen, Shane Bieber and Triston McKenzie rounding out the series in that order.

Anyone with a ticket to Wednesday’s game will automatically receive a credit that can be utilized toward any remaining 2021 home game, beginning with the May 7 homestand, subject to availability. Fans will not be able to use the credit toward the remaining games in the current homestand through April 28. Those who purchased tickets through StubHub will be contacted by StubHub directly with further instructions.

Fans should see the credit in their My Indians Tickets account by Thursday, April 29, and the credit will expire on Sept. 22 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Fans can call 216-420-HITS if they experience any problems with their account.
