ORLANDO, Fla. – The Marlins and Rockies will begin the 2026 season a day later than originally scheduled, on Friday, March 27, at loanDepot park.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET, with a postgame fireworks show to follow.
Miami and Colorado were originally scheduled for a Thursday Opening Day and an off-day that Friday for their three-game opening series. This will mark the first Friday night Opening Day game in the ballpark’s history, and just the fourth time the Marlins will kick off the season with a night game at home (and the first since 2016).
The times for the other two games of the opening series will remain the same. The two clubs will square off at 4:10 p.m. ET that Saturday and 1:40 p.m. that Sunday.
