NEW YORK -- The Mets scratched Freddy Peralta from his scheduled start on Friday, according to multiple sources, three days before Monday's Trade Deadline. The team has not confirmed.

Peralta had been scheduled to pitch against the Marlins, which could have helped boost his value heading into the Deadline. The team scratched him about five hours prior to first pitch. Peralta, who holds a 4.99 ERA overall this season, has a 7.34 mark over his last nine starts.
Still, multiple sources have noted that there is significant interest around the league in Peralta, one of the only high-upside starting pitchers clearly available in a seller's market. While Detroit's Tarik Skubal represents the top of the market, the Mets control a significant portion of it with both Peralta and Clay Holmes for sale.
A source said Holmes is not expected to make his own scheduled start Sunday, one day before the Deadline.
The Mets acquired Peralta, a two-time All-Star with the Brewers, in January for prospects Jett Williams and Brandon Sproat. He can be a free agent after this season.
