Given that they are on pace to set the franchise record for most wins in a season, perhaps five All-Stars isn't enough for the 63-29 Red Sox.

There's a chance for to make it six All-Stars for Boston. The talented left-handed hitter is one of five American League candidates on the Camping World MLB Final Vote ballot, and on Tuesday, he was ranked second behind the Mariners' .

If Red Sox Nation can give Benintendi the necessary boost, the left fielder would join teammates , J.D. Martinez, Chris Sale, and Mitch Moreland in Washington for the Midsummer Classic on July 17.

The 24-year-old Benintendi is hoping to be an All-Star for the first time.
"Yeah, it's pretty cool," Benintendi said. "I mean, it's something I've watched, I guess for a long time -- the All-Star Game and the Home Run Derby and that kind of stuff -- so to be a part of it would be pretty fun."
Fans can cast votes for the final player on each league's roster -- on computers, tablets and smartphones -- exclusively online as part of the 2018 Camping World MLB Final Vote, as well as via the MLB At Bat and MLB Ballpark mobile apps, until Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET.
Johnny Damon (2002), Jason Varitek ('03) and Hideki Okajima ('07) are previous Red Sox players who became All-Stars via the Final Vote.

"There's a lot of good players in the league, there's only a few spots. There's a lot of deserving guys and a lot of guys who won't make it," Benintendi said. "So like I said, whatever happens, happens."
On Tuesday, July 17, while watching the 2018 All-Star Game presented by Mastercard live on FOX, fans can submit their choices for the Ted Williams Most Valuable Player Award presented by Chevrolet with the 2018 All-Star Game MLB.com MVP Vote.
The 89th Midsummer Classic, at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., will be televised nationally by FOX Sports; in Canada by Rogers Sportsnet and RDS; and worldwide by partners in more than 180 countries. FOX Deportes will provide Spanish-language coverage in the United States, while ESPN Radio and ESPN Radio Deportes will provide exclusive national radio coverage of the All-Star Game.
