Rafael Devers, Tyler O'Neill and Garrett Whitlock, Red Sox

Though Devers returned to the lineup as the DH on Wednesday after experiencing left knee soreness in Tuesday's game, he underwent an MRI on that knee Thursday morning and was out of that day's starting lineup.

O'Neill was placed on the 7-day injured list Thursday, three days after a head-on collision with Devers that left the outfielder with eight stitches on his forehead. The 7-day IL is specifically for players who are experiencing concussion symptoms.

Whitlock was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a left oblique strain. Manager Alex Cora said the club doesn't deem it to be a serious injury, and there's confidence Whitlock will be back after serving a minimum amount of time on the IL. More >

Justin Verlander and José Urquidy, Astros

Verlander (right shoulder inflammation) will make his long-awaited season debut on Friday against the Nationals, manager Joe Espada announced on Wednesday. More >

Urquidy (left forearm strain) threw 10 pitches halfway up the mound at 80 percent on Tuesday with the hopes of throwing a bullpen a few days after. More >

Yu Darvish and Jake Cronenworth, Padres

Darvish was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday due to neck tightness. More >

After leaving Monday’s game with what was initially reported as a tight calf, Cronenworth was out of the lineup for the final two games of the Padres’ three-game series in Milwaukee. More >

Ozzie Albies, Braves

Albies was placed on the 10-day IL on Tuesday with a fractured right big toe suffered on a hit by pitch during Monday's game vs. the Astros. More >

Christian Yelich and Wade Miley, Brewers

Yelich, who had missed each of the Brewers' past three games due to stiffness in his lower back, was placed on the 10-day IL Tuesday with a low back strain. The move was made retroactive to Saturday. More >

Miley left Tuesday's start after three innings following a comebacker drilling his left knee in the first inning. He will receive treatment on the knee in an effort to make his next scheduled start. More >

Kyle Bradish and Tyler Wells, Orioles

Bradish (right UCL strain) made his first rehab start for Double-A Bowie on Tuesday, throwing 44 pitches and striking out four batters across three scoreless innings. He came out of the outing in good shape and was feeling well Wednesday morning, manager Brandon Hyde said. More >

Wells was placed on the injured list on Tuesday with right elbow inflammation. More >

Brett Baty, Mets

Baty left Tuesday's game early with left hamstring tightness. However, the Mets were not concerned enough to order an MRI exam for their starting third baseman, and they do not expect him to land on the injured list. He should return to the lineup within a few days. More >

Gabriel Moreno, Paul Sewald and Eduardo Rodriguez, D-backs

Moreno (right thumb contusion) was out of the lineup Wednesday for the second straight game. Moreno suffered his injury in the ninth inning of Monday's game when he tried to block a wild pitch by Kevin Ginkel.

Sewald (left oblique strain) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday.

Rodriguez (left lat strain) was transferred to the 60-day IL on Wednesday. Rodriguez's throwing program was paused after he experienced some discomfort in the left lat following an April 9 bullpen session. More >

Hayes (lower back tightness) was held out of the lineup Wednesday for the second straight game. More >

Robert Stephenson and Brandon Drury, Angels

Stephenson, whom the Angels signed to a three-year, $33 million contract this past offseason, will miss the entire season due to an elbow injury. The team announced Thursday that the right-hander will undergo surgery later this month. More >

Drury (left hamstring tightness) was out of the lineup Wednesday for the second straight game. Manager Ron Washington said Drury will also be held out of the lineup Thursday as a precaution because of the turf at Tropicana Field. More >

Kepler (right knee contusion) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul on Thursday.

Cobb (left hip surgery) has been cleared to resume throwing after being briefly shut down with a mild flexor strain in his right elbow.

Encarnacion-Strand was scratched from Wednesday's lineup due to an illness.

Bryant was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday (retroactive to Sunday) with a low back strain. More >

Freeland suffered a separation to his non-throwing shoulder in a collision at home plate with Phillies pitcher Jeff Hoffman on Monday. However, Freeland reported no issues on Tuesday after going through his regular throwing program and should make his next scheduled start on Friday if all goes as expected.
