Nimmo (hamstring tightness) exits early vs. Yankees

ARLINGTON -- Rangers right fielder exited Wednesday’s game against the Yankees with right hamstring tightness.

Nimmo singled to load the bases in the fifth inning and was visited by a trainer after running from second to third on a grounder later in the frame. The team has not yet announced the extent of the injury.

Sam Haggerty replaced Nimmo on the basepaths and in the outfield the following inning.

If Nimmo needs an injured-list stint, it would be a major blow to a struggling offense that is already without Wyatt Langford, who has been down with a Grade 1 right flexor strain since April 22.

Nimmo, whom the Rangers acquired from the Mets this offseason, reached base twice before the injury. He has hit .290 with an .824 OPS in 31 games as Texas’ leadoff hitter.
