Brandon Tate Nimmo (pronounced NIH-mo)…wife, Chelsea…couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, during the 2024-25 offseason…will call Globe Life Field home after playing just three games in Arlington throughout his 10-year big league career…during his Rangers introductory press conference on 12/4/25 at GLF, Nimmo said his lone career series at Texas (6/17-19/24) marked the last time his grandmother, Claudine, saw him play before she passed… Brandon went 5-for-12 with two HR and five RBI in that set against the Rangers…chose No. 24 as his Texas number because his older brother, Bryce, wore it when the pair played in Wyoming… Bryce and Brandon were Ken Griffey Jr. fans growing up…Bryce went on to play outfield for the University of Nebraska, including appearing in the 2005 College World Series…father, Ron, was a collegiate wrestler and was the one to encourage Brandon to swing left-handed, this after he was a switch-hitter through age 10…Nimmo does most things right-handed, including golf, which was recommended by Ron so that Brandon maintain his lefthanded baseball swing…spent previous offseasons living in Port St. Lucie, Fla., while he was a Met…is an avid fisherman and enjoys shark fishing…favorite player as a child was Todd Helton – the pair met in New York-NL spring training in 2021.
