Brewers-Pirates opener ppd.; split doubleheader on Saturday

12:26 AM UTC

PITTSBURGH -- Friday night’s National League Central game between the Pirates and the Brewers at PNC Park has been postponed due to inclement weather.

The contest will be made up with a split doubleheader on Saturday, with the first game at 12:05 p.m. ET and the second at the regularly scheduled 4:05 p.m. slot.

Pittsburgh and Milwaukee’s starting pitchers, Braxton Ashcraft and Brandon Sproat, went out to warm up Friday per usual. The game was originally delayed by 10 minutes to 6:50 p.m., but just before that time, the tarp was replaced on the field with more rain in the forecast.

Pirates pitchers remained in the bullpen until around 7:30 p.m. before returning to the clubhouse.

Tickets for Friday’s game are valid for the 12:05 p.m. game on Saturday. Go to pirates.com/raincheck for official ticketing policies.
