Perhaps sliding into the updated Top 100 Prospects list spurred Drew Romo.

Baseball's No. 95 overall prospect homered and tripled en route to a career-high five RBIs to power High-A Spokane past Everett, 9-3, at Avista Stadium. Romo added a walk, scored twice and reached safely in three of his four plate appearances, improving his OPS to .855.

After scorching through April with a .342/.384/.500 slash line, the 20-year-old had leveled off this month, carrying a .264 average and a .681 OPS into Tuesday's contest. Homerless in his previous 18 games dating back to April 26, Romo put a charge into a 1-1 offering in the third inning that carried over the right-field fence for a three-run jack.

It was the switch-hitting backstop's third long ball of the season and first in 70 at-bats. Romo came through again in the fifth, legging out his career-high third triple, which brought home two more Spokane runs. The five RBIs eclipsed his previous best of three, done four times previously and most recently on April 26.

Selected 35th overall in the 2020 Draft out of the Woodlands High School in Texas, Romo has done nothing but hit since turning professional. He debuted with a .314/.345/.439 slash line, 25 extra-base hits, six homers and 47 RBIs in 79 games with Low-A Fresno last year.

His hot start to 2022 netted him MiLB.com's High-A Northwest League's Player of the Month honors for April and despite slowing down to begin May, he's picked things up over the last week. Romo has hit safely in six of his last seven contests with four multihit performances in that span.

Overall, the second-ranked Rockies prospect is batting .318/.363/.492 with 14 extra-base hits and 28 RBIs in 35 games.

No. 22 Colorado prospect Grant Lavigne doubled, singled and drove in a run while extending his hitting streak to seven games.

No. 9 overall prospect Noelvi Marte singled twice, walked and stole a base for Everett, and Mariners No. 25 Victor Labrada slugged his fourth home run.
