LOS ANGELES -- Hyun-Jin Ryu, Rich Hill, Russell Martin, David Freese and Jedd Gyorko are officially free agents, while closer Kenley Jansen reportedly declined to opt out of the final two years of his contract and remained with the club.

The 32-year-old Jansen, coming off the worst season of his career, would have been walking away from the remaining $38 million on his contract, so his decision was expected. MLB Network insider Jon Heyman first reported Jansen’s decision.

Ryu, also 32, who accepted the Dodgers’ $17.9 million qualifying offer a year ago, is in line for a major multiyear payday after winning the MLB ERA title (2.32) and going 14-5. Rules do not allow the Dodgers to offer him a qualifying offer for a second time.

The 39-year-old Hill made only 13 starts in an injury-plagued season, but when it was over, he said he hoped the Dodgers want him back.

The 36-year-old Martin, in his second stint with the Dodgers, hit .220 with six homers as the backup catcher -- first to Austin Barnes, then to rookie Will Smith.

Despite hitting .315 with 11 homers as a bench player, Freese, 36, announced his retirement after the Dodgers were eliminated by the Nationals in the National League Division Series.

Los Angeles exercised a $1 million buyout on the 31-year-old Gyorko, instead of picking up his $13 million club option for next year. The veteran infielder hit .139 in 24 games after being dealt to the Dodgers from the Cardinals in July.

The Dodgers also announced that left-handed reliever Victor González was added to the 40-man roster, thus protecting him from the Rule 5 Draft. The 23-year-old appeared in 38 games (13 starts) across three levels last season, posting a combined 5-2 record with a 2.31 ERA (23 ER/89 2/3 IP) with 93 strikeouts against 32 walks. González signed as a 16-year-old out of Mexico in 2012. In seven seasons with the Dodgers, he is a combined 17-27 record with a 4.34 ERA.
