Twenty-one days had passed since the last time found the seats. However, the second-ranked Red Sox prospect made up for lost time on Sunday.

Downs bookended his afternoon with a pair of homers -- in the first and ninth innings -- to power Triple-A Worcester to a 13-7 shellacking of Syracuse at NBT Bank Stadium.

The performance marked the first multi-homer game of the season for Downs and third of his professional career. The effort also raised his slugging percentage 60 points to .390.

After a leadoff walk by  to open the game, Downs connected with an 0-1 fastball and drilled it to left-center field to open the scoring for the WooSox. The blast ignited a six-run frame by Worcester.

MLB Pipeline's No. 38 overall prospect provided a jolt again for the WooSox in the final frame, launching the first pitch he saw from Trey Cobb over the fence in left with two outs. The blast was the second dinger of the inning for Worcester and capped the club's scoring.

Downs is now sporting a .220/.307/.390 slash line with five homers, a pair of doubles, 11 RBIs, 12 runs scored and eight stolen bases over 26 games this season.

Duran, MLB Pipeline's No. 91 overall prospect, also went yard for the second time in as many games. The third-ranked Red Sox prospect has found his power dial of late, blasting five roundtrippers over his last eight games.

Duran reached base four times on Sunday with a pair of knocks and two walks. He scored twice and drove in a pair. The 24-year-old has amassed a .260/.362/.610 slash line with 10 dingers and 17 RBIs this year.
