
The Phillies and Toyota are hosting a full lineup of fan events that feature on-field ceremonies, special guests, and more during Toyota Phillies Alumni Weekend, August 11-13, at Citizens Bank Park, taking place during the series against the Minnesota Twins.
Nearly 60 former players are scheduled to make appearances throughout the weekend, with the most up-to-date alumni listing and event lineup below. In addition, fans will be able to participate in an online Phillies Charities, Inc. auction featuring signed memorabilia by former and current players at phillies.com/auctions. Custom merchandise celebrating alumni weekend, including novelty pins, pennants, t-shirts and more, will also be available at the New Era Phillies Team Store.
Tickets for Toyota Phillies Alumni Weekend are available at phillies.com. Fans are encouraged to arrive at the ballpark early for each event and follow the Phillies on social media for updates. Highlights will also be featured on game broadcasts (NBC10 on Friday and NBC Sports Philadelphia on Saturday and Sunday).
LINEUP FOR TOYOTA PHILLIES ALUMNI WEEKEND
FRIDAY, AUGUST 11 - 7:05 p.m. game; Gates open 5:35 p.m.
6:45 p.m., Ceremonial First Pitch by Hall of Famer Jim Kaat, On-field
- Hall of Famer Jim Kaat will throw the ceremonial first pitch, caught by 1980 World Series champion and Kaat’s former teammate Bob Boone.
- This will be Kaat’s first appearance at the ballpark since being inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown in 2022.
- A three-time All-Star who won 16 Gold Glove Awards, the left-handed pitcher had a career that spanned four decades, including four seasons with the Phillies from 1976-79.

- From 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., Phillies pitcher Taijuan Walker will host his “Tai’s Tacos” charity event to benefit Turning Points for Children outside the Third Base Gate. Details>>
- For this weekend only: Colbie’s Southern Kissed Chicken, co-owned by 2008 World Champion Ryan Howard, will offer its Waffler sandwich (waffle buns, Colbie’s Southern Chicken and buttery syrup) at the Coca-Cola Corner (Left Field Plaza) for $12.99+tax, with part of the proceeds benefitting Philabundance.
- Plus, Dr. Alfred Dorsey, anesthesiologist at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware, will represent Toyota and have the honor of throwing a ceremonial first pitch.

4:45 p.m., Toyota Phillies Legends Walk into the Ballpark, Left Field Plaza
- This will be a fun photo opportunity as Phillies Wall of Famers make their entrance into the ballpark, where they will walk the red carpet before gathering in front of the Toyota Phillies Wall of Fame in Ashburn Alley.
5:40 p.m., Toyota Phillies Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony: Class of 2023, On-field
- The Phillies will bestow one of their highest honors as two legends are inducted into the Toyota Phillies Wall of Fame! Inductees include John Quinn and Ruly Carpenter (who will be honored posthumously). Note: Scott Rolen, also a 2023 inductee, will be honored on September 22 before the Mets game.
- Among those taking part will be Phillies Wall of Famers and special guests, who will all be on-field for the event. Plus, Quinn and Carpenter’s plaques will be unveiled on the Toyota Phillies Wall of Fame, a tradition that began in 1978 at Veterans Stadium.
• JOHN QUINN, GENERAL MANAGER, 1959-1972: The longest-tenured general manager in Phillies history, Quinn drafted Mike Schmidt and traded for Steve Carlton, respectively the club’s all-time greatest player and pitcher. He also drafted or signed Larry Bowa, Greg Luzinski and Bob Boone who, together with those two future Hall of Famers, formed the core of the Phillies’ first World Series championship team in 1980. Other Phillies greats he acquired include Dick Allen, Jim Bunning, Johnny Callison and Tony Taylor. Was responsible for acquiring four of the nine Phillies players whose jerseys have been retired. Under his leadership, the Phillies became fully integrated and fielded the first racially diverse teams in franchise history. Hired Gene Mauch, the Phillies’ second-winningest manager, in 1960.
• RULY CARPENTER, OWNER/PRESIDENT, 1963-1981: The youngest president in the National League when named to the position at age 32 in 1972. The Phillies won three consecutive NL East titles and their first World Series in a five-year span (1976-80) under his leadership. Instrumental in hiring Paul Owens as farm director in 1965. Promoted Owens to general manager in 1972 who then led the Phillies to the 1980 World Series championship. This championship team is considered the best team in Phillies history. During his time as president, the Phillies posted a record of 763-640 (.544), made the postseason five of nine years, hosted the 1976 All-Star Game and debuted the Phillie Phanatic (1978).
End of Third Inning, 1983 NL Champs Base Change: Be on the lookout for alumni Von Hayes, Steve Jeltz and Bob Dernier, who will change the bases!

- Enjoy a Budweiser Block Party, with pregame fun at the Budweiser Batter’s Eye Bar behind Section 148.
- 13-year-old amputee Logan Marmino, who stars in “Best Foot Forward,” will represent Toyota and have the honor of throwing a ceremonial first pitch.
- Chief Warrant Officer Colin Smith will have the honor of changing a base at the end of the 6th inning on behalf of Toyota.
SUNDAY, AUGUST 13 – 1:35 p.m. game – Toyota Phillies Alumni Day; Gates open 12:05 p.m.
12:40 p.m., Salute to the 1983 and 1993 National League Champion Phillies, On-field
- Arrive to the ballpark early for this must-see on-field salute, as legends from the Phillies’ 1983 and 1993 NL championship teams take the field to be honored pregame! Toyota Phillies Wall of Famers and local alumni will also be participating.
- Highlights include a ceremonial first pitch by Phillies pitcher and broadcaster Larry Andersen, who was a member of both championship clubs. Catching the first ball will be 1983 NL Champion Ozzie Virgil.
End of Third Inning, 1993 NL Champs Base Change: Phillies alumni Ricky Jordan, Mickey Morandini and Dave Hollins will change the bases.

- Be on the lookout for Phillies alumni, who will be all around the ballpark pregame!
- The Darren Daulton and Tug McGraw Foundations will be holding merch sales and a charity raffle at the First Base Plaza.
- Jarmaine Kirby and Carter Davis, Little Brother and Big Brother at Big Brothers Big Sisters, will represent Toyota and have the honor of throwing ceremonial first pitches.
- Big Sister Amanee Scott-Stephan will have the honor of changing a base at the end of the 6th inning on behalf of Toyota.
