The Brewers are calling up outfield prospect from Triple-A Nashville, the team announced on Tuesday. Lara, who signed a seven-year, $31 million contract extension earlier this season, is ranked by MLB Pipeline as Milwaukee’s No. 4 prospect and MLB’s No. 67 overall.

Outfielder was optioned to Nashville as a corresponding move for Lara's callup, and the Brewers saw utility man David Hamilton exit Monday’s win over the Cardinals with left hamstring tightness. Lefty was also called up as the 27th man for Milwaukee's doubleheader with St. Louis on Tuesday.

Lara has enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2026. He’s posting a career-high .902 OPS while hitting nine home runs in 78 games. The 21-year-old had hit just 10 home runs across his previous four Minor League seasons. He's seen the lion's share of his reps in center (69 starts) this year, with seven starts in right field and two at DH.

Lara, from Venezuela, would be the second Top 100 prospect to debut for the Brewers this season, joining shortstop Cooper Pratt.
