Tuesday's DET-CLE rained out; twin bill Wed.

June 30th, 2021

CLEVELAND -- The Indians and Tigers tried to wait to get Tuesday night’s game in, but a rainy forecast ended up pushing all action back another 20 hours.

The two clubs will now play a straight doubleheader beginning at 4:10 p.m. ET on Wednesday with two seven-inning games. Only fans who had tickets to the June 30 game will be able to attend both contests.

Anyone who had tickets to Tuesday’s matchup can exchange those for one of 18 game options. Those who want to exchange their tickets for Wednesday’s twin bill must do so by 3 p.m. ET. All other exchanges must be made by Friday, Sept. 10, at noon ET. Fans can begin making exchanges through their My Indians Tickets account at 9 a.m. ET on Wednesday. Fans can call 216-420-HITS with additional questions or visit https://www.mlb.com/indians/tickets/season-tickets/exchange-faq.

Right-hander J.C. Mejía was slated to start on Tuesday, but he will now be skipped as Cal Quantrill and Logan Allen get the nods on Wednesday. Because Mejía began warming up before the rain delay began, the Indians decided to push him back to Thursday's series opener against the Astros.

Quantrill will start in the matinee against Tigers righty José Ureña. And in his first start since his demotion to Triple-A Columbus, Allen will take the nightcap against Detroit's Wily Peralta.
