Royals: Bobby Witt Jr., SS (MLB No. 7), Double-A Northwest Arkansas
The top-ranked Royals prospect turned in his eighth performance of the year with at least three hits. Witt Jr. launched his 14th home run of the season -- a two-run shot to right in the first -- and added base knocks in the second and fifth innings. Tigers: Riley Greene, OF (MLB No. 15), Double-A Erie
Cristian Santana, SS (No. 12), DSL Tigers
Make that three multihit games in a row for Greene, who smacked his 10th homer of the year and tripled for the third time this season on a 2-for-4 night at the plate. After rocketing a solo shot in the bottom of the first, the Tigers’ No. 2 prospect cleared the bases with a triple in the fifth to drive in four of Erie’s seven runs. On the year, Greene is slashing .289/.374/.498 with 36 RBIs and 27 walks through 55 games in Double-A.
The Tigers signed Santana for a team-record $2.95 million bonus in January, and it only took two games for him to show Detroit the type of player he can be. The 17-year-old went 2-for-3 with a homer, three RBIs and two walks, giving him more walks (4) than strikeouts (2) thus far in his young career. Tigers prospect stats »
Yankees: Jasson Dominguez, OF (MLB No. 24), Low-A Tampa
In his first game of full-season ball, the top Yankees prospect wasted no time making an impact. Dominguez put the Tarpons on the board with an RBI double down the right-field line in the third inning. It was the first professional extra-base hit for the player known as The Martian. In the eighth, the 18-year-old provided some insurance for Tampa with an RBI infield single. Over seven games in Rookie ball to open the season, Dominguez went 4-for-20 with six walks, a pair of stolen bases, an RBI and five runs scored. Yankees prospects stats »
Athletics: Tyler Soderstrom, C (MLB No. 82), Low-A Stockton
The top ranked A’s prospect extended his hitting streak to 13 games and recorded his seventh multihit performance over that span. Soderstrom laced a double down the line in right in the first, crushed a home run to center in the third and led off the sixth with a bloop infield hit. Astros: Peter Solomon, RHP (No. 12), Triple-A Sugar Land
Solomon was unhittable through six of the seven innings he pitched, racking up eight strikeouts along the way. With a 3-0 lead, Solomon gave up a double to begin the top of the seventh, followed by a strikeout and a wild pitch to allow Tacoma’s first run of the game to cross the plate. A fourth-rounder in the 2017 Draft, Solomon’s seven innings were a season high. The righty has tallied 53 strikeouts through 46 1/3 innings in Triple-A. Astros prospect stats »
Brewers: Alec Bettinger, RHP (No. 23), Triple-A Nashville
Bettinger bounced back from a rocky start in his last outing in a triumphant way, tying his career high in strikeouts with 12 over six scoreless innings of five-hit ball. It’s the third Minor League outing this season that Bettinger didn’t issue a free pass, and the 2017 10th-round Draft pick is pitching to a 2.78 ERA with 43 strikeouts and eight walks across 35 2/3 innings (nine appearances) in Triple-A. Braves: Jared Shuster, LHP (No. 6), High-A Rome
Shuster is coming off a strange outing where he didn’t allow a hit through five, but gave up one earned run on a steal of home plate. Needless to say, Shuster’s outing on Tuesday was a bit more orthodox, as the southpaw struck out five over four scoreless innings of one-hit ball. The 25th overall pick in the 2020 Draft, Shuster has a 2.89 ERA and a 0.85 WHIP through 28 innings. Braves prospect stats »
Cardinals: Alec Burleson, OF (No. 15), Double-A Springfield
The 15th-ranked Cardinals prospect extended his hitting streak to five games while notching his fourth multihit effort in that span. Burleson collected three knocks -- including his 16th homer of the year -- and drove in four runs. The 22-year-old blasted a go-ahead grand slam to right-center in the eighth inning. Indians: Brayan Rocchio, SS (No. 7), High-A Lake County
Logan Allen, LHP (No. 22), Double-A Akron
With his fourth multihit effort in six games, Rocchio raised his average 14 points -- from .257 to .271 -- after a perfect 4-for-4 night at the plate. It’s the second time in his career that he’s recorded four hits in a game, and Tuesday’s effort included two doubles. Rocchio scored two runs and drove in two, giving him 25 RBIs on the year, four shy of his career-high mark of 29 he set in his debut season in 2018.
Allen continued his dominant season with his sixth scoreless outing of the year. The 2020 second-rounder (56th overall) made the most of his Double-A debut, striking out six and working around a pair of hits over four frames. With this outing, Allen lowered his season ERA to a sparkling 1.46 and has a 73-to-13 strikeout-to-walk ratio through 55 1/3 innings. Indians prospect stats »
Marlins: Osiris Johnson, SS (No. 28), FCL Marlins
Johnson, a second-round pick from the 2018 Draft, extended his hitting streak to five games with his third straight multihit performance. The 20-year-old went 2-for-4 with a double, homer and two RBIs, and he is 11-for-19 (.579) with eight RBIs during his current hitting streak. Marlins prospects stats »
Rays: Josh Lowe, OF (No. 10), Triple-A Durham
Lowe recorded his second multihomer game of the season and the fourth of his career, crushing a pair of two-run homers in Durham’s 8-1 win. The 23-year-old added a double to finish 3-for-4, giving Lowe a total of 28 extra-base hits (11 homers, 16 doubles, one triple) on the season. Twins: Brent Rooker, OF (No. 10), Triple-A St. Paul
Rooker had a career night at the plate in St. Paul’s 19-1 rout of Columbus. The 26-year-old recorded his first multihomer game of the season in emphatic fashion, smashing three homers in his first four at-bats and adding a double to his 4-for-6, seven-RBI night. Tallying a whopping 14 total bases, Rooker’s seven RBIs are a career high, and the 2017 Draft pick (35th overall) is slashing .245/.373/.569 with 17 homers through 53 games. Twins prospect stats »
