The 2026 Arizona Fall League rosters just got a little more exciting on Monday with a pair of, well, surprise additions.
Joining the Surprise Saguaros' roster are a pair of Top 100 prospects in Rangers shortstop Sebastian Walcott (TEX No. 1/MLB No. 9) and Royals outfielder Angeibel Gomez (KC No. 3/MLB No. 81).

The addition of those toolsy hitters brings the total Top 100 prospects competing in the Fall League this season to 14, which is the highest total since 2024. Walcott also immediately becomes the highest-ranked player competing, edging out Dodgers outfielder Eduardo Quintero (LAD No. 3/MLB No. 18).

Walcott returns to the Fall League for the second straight season, although his campaign last year only lasted one game before he had to exit with arm fatigue. He wound up undergoing internal brace surgery after getting diagnosed with a torn elbow ligament and only returned to the field in mid-July, with five of his 44 games -- including the postseason -- at short and the rest at DH.
At his best, Walcott stacks up among the best sluggers in the Minor Leagues. Thanks to tremendous bat speed, the 6-foot-4 Bahamas native has 65-grade power and could be a 40-homer hitter down the line. He also has plus plus arm strength that will be quite an asset if he can stick on the left side of the infield.
Gomez, meanwhile, had a breakout campaign in his debut season after signing for $2.9 million as the No. 4 prospect in this year's international class. The 6-foot-2 center fielder stands out for his 70-grade speed and could grow into plus power from the right side as he fills out.
The Fall League will be an excellent proving ground for the 17-year-old, who is the second youngest player ever on the circuit after Michael De Leon in 2014. He was quite the performer in the Rookie-level Dominican Summer League, finishing third with a 1.119 OPS in 47 games while walking (28) more than he struck out (19), and this will be an opportunity for him to get even more reps in against much older competition.
