Cole optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake; Puello recalled

OAKLAND -- Besides announcing the expected recall of right-hander , who allowed three runs in five innings in Tuesday's 6-4 win over Oakland, the Angels performed additional roster shuffling on Tuesday.

The Angels placed third baseman on the 10-day injured list with left shoulder inflammation, optioned right-hander Taylor Cole to Triple-A and transferred outfielder Michael Hermosillo to the 60-day injured list.

Cozart, who is in the second year of a three-year, $38 million deal, is slashing just .124/.178/.144 with no home runs and seven RBIs in 38 games. He had a previous stint on the injured list in April after sustaining a neck strain.

Angels manager Brad Ausmus indicated that Cozart had been ailing for some time. Cole owned a 4.97 ERA in eight appearances.

The Angels also selected the contract of outfielder , who hit .299 with seven doubles, seven home runs and 27 RBIs in 42 games with Salt Lake. He has played for six different organizations in 12 professional seasons.
