After a year hiatus due to the pandemic, top high school all-star baseball players from the tristate area will finally get the chance to play baseball in front of major league and college scouts during the 35th Phillies Baseball Carpenter Cup Classic presented by Nike.
This 15-game tournament, recognized nationally as one of the finest baseball tournaments for high school students, kicks off on Monday, June 14 and continues until Friday, June 18 at the Phillies MLB Urban Youth Academy Fields at FDR Park. The four teams who advance in the semi-finals will play their games on June 21 at Citizens Bank Park, with the top two teams playing the championship game on June 24. All games are open to the public.
“We are so excited for the return of normalcy and the resumption of the Phillies Baseball Carpenter Cup presented by Nike,” said Jon Joaquin, Director, Youth Baseball Development. “For many players, this tournament has been a catalyst for scholarships and admission to the country’s top universities. We wish all of the teams the best of luck on their journey to the finals.”
