1989 “WHY NOT?” REUNION LUNCHEON

The Orioles will host a luncheon followed by an on-field reunion ceremony in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the 1989 “Why Not?” team. The luncheon will feature members of the ’89 team, including: CAL RIPKEN, JR., JEFF BALLARD, PHIL BRADLEY, MIKE DEVEREAUX, RENE GONZALES, PETE HARNISCH, TIM HULETT, DAVE JOHNSON, BEN MCDONALD, BOB MILACKI, GREGG OLSON, JOE ORSULAK, JAMIE QUIRK, BILL RIPKEN, DAVE SCHMIDT, LARRY SHEETS, MIKE SMITH, MICKEY WESTON, MARK WILLIAMSON, and CRAIG WORTHINGTON. The sold-out luncheon will include a Q&A session with the players and coaches, a silent auction, raffles, and door prizes. Media are invited to interview select returning members of the 1989 team, on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. ET on the 7th Floor of the Warehouse at Oriole Park. Later that evening, beginning at 6:30 p.m., the Orioles will hold a special pregame ceremony honoring the members of the 1989 team.

The first 20,000 fans 15 and over in attendance will also receive an ’89 “Why Not?” T-Shirt. Both the Orioles and the Astros players and coaches will be wearing throwback uniforms from 1989. Each Orioles authenticated, game-worn, and autographed jersey & cap will be auctioned at Orioles.com/auctions to benefit the Baltimore Orioles Charitable Foundation. Autographed jerseys from select members of the 1989 team will also be auctioned. The auction will conclude on Friday, August 16 at 10:00 p.m.

JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY NIGHT

In the first University Night of the season, the Orioles will welcome students, alumni, and supporters of Johns Hopkins University to Camden Yards. Several area universities are invited to attend University Nights at Oriole Park this season, as several local and regional colleges will be celebrated in August and September.

A limited number of ticket packages are available for each University Night, which includes a game ticket and a co-branded Orioles cap featuring each school’s colors and logo. FRIDAY FIREWORKS & WOMEN OF COUNTRY MUSIC

The Friday Fireworks & Women of Country Music series takes place every Friday from June through August, headlining emerging female artists in partnership with Change the Conversation, a nonprofit organization advocating for women’s equality in the music industry. The Orioles invite fans to enjoy performances from emerging artists after the game followed by a spectacular fireworks display.  This Friday, the Orioles will feature a performance by singer/songwriter CARTER FAITH. The Davidson, NC. native is currently attending Belmont University as part of their renowned songwriting program. As a freshman, she was selected to partake in some of the most prestigious emerging artist showcases in Nashville, including the ASCAP Belmont Songwriters Showcase and Song Suffragettes. In March, Faith opened for Cole Swindell at the Orioles' "Artists and Athletes Play for Kids" charity weekend in Sarasota, Fla. She is currently in the studio recording original music set to be out by the end of the year.

Friday Fireworks & Women of Country Music is part of the Orioles’ yearlong celebration of women’s equality and girls’ empowerment. Each date, the artists will also sign autographs and meet fans at the National Woman’s Party’s Standing Together exhibit on the lower concourse behind home plate during the fourth inning. On Friday, the Orioles will also welcome SUSAN CARTER, President, National Woman’s Party, LUCY CALAUTTI, Immediate Past President, National Woman’s Party, TRACY GERSHON, Co-Founder, Change the Conversation, BEVERLY KEEL, Co-Founder, Change the Conversation, and MARGARET VALENTINE, Founder, Pound it Out LOUD Entertainment, the women instrumental in bringing the partnership together, to speak with fans during the game.

BIRDLAND COMMUNITY HEROES: DARLENE CRIDER

The Orioles will recognize DARLENE CRIDER, co-founder of the Sisters In Law, Inc. as Friday’s Birdland Community Hero. As a former Baltimore police officer, Crider helped create the Sisters In Law, Inc. (SIL) in 2011 after she noticed a need for positive influence for the young women in the Baltimore community. SIL works to help inspire girls to reach their maximum potential through goal setting, positive decision making, increasing academic achievements, and helping empower young women to lead change. The Orioles Charitable Foundation will make a $2,500 donation to SIL in support of the Birdland Community Heroes program.

VOTER REGISTRATION AT ORIOLE PARK

As part of the club’s effort to encourage participation in our democracy, during every Friday home game, voter registration booths will be present at the National Woman’s Party’s Standing Together exhibit in the lower concourse behind home plate.

FIRKIN FRIDAYS AT FLYING DOG TAP HOUSE

Every Friday throughout the season, the Flying Dog Tap House, located on the first base side of the lower concourse, will host Firkin Fridays and tap a new cask for a different beer each week. JAMES MADISON UNIVERSITY NIGHT

DASHBOARD HULA BIRD GIVEAWAY

The first 20,000 fans 15 and over in attendance for Saturday night’s game against the Astros will receive a dashboard hula bird.

SATURDAY ROOF DECK SESSION: JEREMIAH LLOYD HARMON

Saturday’s session will feature a pregame performance by American Idol Season 17 fan favorite JEREMIAH LLOYD HARMON from Catonsville, Md. Harmon's self-titled EP was released this year though Virginia-based record label Harding Street Assembly Lab. He recently released the single "Learn to Love," recorded live at the Glass Village Studios. The performance will be broadcast throughout the ballpark, and fans will also be able to access the Budweiser Roof Deck with any game ticket on a first-come, first-served basis. Special $3 happy hour pricing on Bud and Bud Light will be available exclusively on the Budweiser Roof Deck from the time gates open until the scheduled first pitch.

BIRDLAND COMMUNITY HERO: Dharshan Varia

The Orioles will recognize DHARSHAN VARIA of the Metro South Asian Deaf Association (MSADA) as Saturday’s Birdland Community Hero. As a child of a deaf adult, Varia has been a member of the deaf community from birth. Recently, Varia’s efforts led to the formal creation of the MSADA Youth Committee, which represents the children of over 100 deaf adults and students at the Model Secondary School for the Deaf in Washington, D.C. The Orioles Charitable Foundation will make a $2,500 donation to the Metro South Asian Deaf Association in support of the Birdland Community Heroes program.

BIRDLAND COMMUNITY HERO: Gael Griffith

The Orioles will recognize GAEL GRIFFITH, a 4-year-old from Baltimore, as Sunday’s Birdland Community Hero. For his fourth birthday, Gael asked that guests bring donations to his firefighter-themed party. He raised $270 for the Baltimore City Fire Foundation Inc., which helps injured firefighters and their families. The Orioles Charitable Foundation will make a $2,500 donation to the Baltimore City Fire Foundation Inc. in support of the Birdland Community Heroes program.

MILITARY APPRECIATION PROGRAM

Military members from The Mission Continues will enjoy the game in a suite, experience a meet-and-greet with players, and receive a T-Shirt and cap as part of the Orioles’ Military Appreciation Sunday Suite Program presented by GEICO.

KIDS RUN THE BASES

Sundays are family days at the ballpark, when all fans ages 4-14 will be able to participate in a postgame Kids Run the Bases, presented by Weis Markets.
