Washington Nationals Homestand Highlights vs. New York Mets (May 10-12) & Houston Astros (May 13-15)

Coming off a nine-game, 10-day road trip, the Nationals return to D.C. for a six-game homestand featuring a pair of three-game series against the New York Mets and the Houston Astros. The season’s third homestand features the return of Pups in the Park; U.S. Navy Day; a World Series cooler tote giveaway; Weather Day; City Connect uniforms; kids superhero socks; Law Enforcement Appreciation Day; Signature Sunday; Kids Run the Bases, and more.

TUESDAY, MAY 10

· Pups in the Park

o Skip the dog park and bring your best friend to Nationals Park on Tuesday for Pups in the Park.

§ Tuesday, May 10, against the New York Mets is the first of five in the Pups in the Park games this season.

o Fans can enjoy the game with other dogs and dog lovers from seats in the pet-friendly Outfield Reserved section.

§ All proceeds from dog ticket sales will be donated to the Human Rescue Alliance.

§ Participants must complete a waiver and bring it to the game in order to bring their dogs into Nationals Park.

· Military Branch Series presented by the Raytheon Technologies – U.S. Navy Day

o The Nationals are proud to host the Military Branch Series presented by Raytheon Technologies to honor the men and women of the U.S. Military, featuring special programming, the Salute to Service and more.

o The Nationals kick off the series with U.S. Navy Day on Tuesday, May 10, vs. the New York Mets.

o Pregame activations include:

§ 200 U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to commands throughout the National Capital Region will line the first and third base lines.

§ Ceremonial First Pitch thrown by Chief of Naval Personnel Vice Admiral John Nowell Jr.

§ Lineup Delivery by Aviation Electrician’s Mate First Class Scott Barclay.

§ National Anthem performed by Musician First Class Danlie Cuenca.

§ Game Ball Delivery by Culinary Specialist First Class Michael Derry.

§ Play Ball! announced by Naval Support Activity Washington Master-at-Arms First Class Myesha Thomas.

§ Five individuals representing Navy Talent Acquisition Group Richmond will join the ranks by enlisting in the United States Navy by taking the Oath of Enlistment on the field.

§ God Bless America performed by Musician First Class Danlie Cuenca.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 11

· World Series Cooler Tote presented by Kaiser Permanente

o On Wednesday, May 11, against the New York Mets, the first 20,000 fans exiting the stadium will receive a World Series cooler tote.

§ This is an exit giveaway – fans can pick up their World Series cooler totes when exiting the ballpark.

THURSDAY, MAY 12

· Weather Day

o It’s always a beautiful day for baseball at Nationals Park. The Nationals and NBC4, Telemundo 44 and NBC Sports Washington will host school groups for an interactive educational pregame presentation about weather.

o All fans who purchase a special Weather Day ticket will receive a meal deal, study guide and the opportunity to take part in an interactive pregame Q&A session.

SATURDAY, MAY 14

· Nationals Youth Baseball Academy Graduation In-Game Recognition

o On Saturday, May 14, against the Houston Astros, the Nationals will celebrate the graduation of Scholar Athletes from the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy, Class of 2022, with special on-field pregame recognition.

o Fans can help keep Academy programs going strong for future classes of Scholar Athletes by making a donation at nationalsacademy.org.

· City Connect On-Field Wear Date

o On Saturday, May 14, vs. the Houston Astros, the Nationals will sport their cherry blossom-themed City Connect uniforms.

o The cherry blossom-themed uniforms will be worn during select games throughout the 2022 season.

· Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

o The Nationals host Law Enforcement Day at Nationals Park on Sunday, May 15, vs. the Houston Astros, recognizing individuals who work to keep our communities safe every day.

§ For every special event ticket sold, the Washington Nationals will donate $5 to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

· Kids Run the Bases

o Kids ages 4 through 12 will have the opportunity to run the bases after Sunday day games, weather permitting.

· Online ticket sales open three hours prior to first pitch, and tickets are also available inside Nationals Park at kiosks located by sections 108, 118, 138, 203 and 223 or from roving sellers through the middle of the 7th inning.

· Tickets can be purchased using cash, credit and debit cards at the following price points: 5 for $10, 20 for $20, 100 for $40, and 300 for $100.

NATIONALS PARK ENTRY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

· Security Procedures

o Fans can now enjoy expedited entry into Nationals Park with the implementation of CEIA OpenGate technology at all guest entrances.

§ Fans no longer need to remove jackets or items from their pockets

§ Fans with clear bags will not need to have their bags searched

· New Bag Policy

o As part of the new procedures, all bags larger than a clutch must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and may not be larger than 16 x 16 x 8 inches.

o Fans may bring a clutch (5” x 7” x ¾” or smaller) in addition to or instead of a clear bag.

o Fans with diaper or medical bags may use ADA/Family lanes at the Center Field and Home Plate gates.

o Binbox is available for fans whose bags do not comply with ballpark regulations.

o Backpacks are not allowed.

GETTING TO THE BALLPARK

Parking options for Nationals fans start at $20 and are available online at nationals.com/Parking. All Washington Nationals parking lots are now cashless, and will only accept credit card payment at this time. Fans are encouraged to purchase parking in advance to ensure a space in their desired location.

Fans using Metro to travel to or from Nationals Park are encouraged to review the Metro schedule at wmata.com/schedules.

Fans should also consider alternate forms of travel to and from the ballpark, including the D.C. Circulator from Union Station, biking to the ballpark, or the baseball boat from Alexandria. Visit nationals.com/WayToGo for information on parking and transportation options to Nationals Park. Fans traveling to the ballpark should be aware that there are construction projects underway in the surrounding area. To ensure safe crossings, please be mindful of signage and directions given by public safety officers.

BALLPARK SAFETY

Nationals Park is a completely non-smoking and tobacco-free facility per District of Columbia law. There is no exception for electronic cigarettes or any other type of smoking device, or for smokeless tobacco or any other type of tobacco product.

MLB and the Nationals require that all people entering Nationals Park walk through a metal detector or be screened with handheld metal detectors to search for prohibited items. This includes a thorough inspection of all jackets, coats, packages, bags, purses, and any other containers brought to any of the Nationals Park entry gates.
