What’s Happening This Week: Phillies vs. Angels, August 28-30

Media Little League Team to be honored and ceremonial first pitch by 76ers’ Nick Nurse; Plus, Temple Health Strike Out Cancer Night, Goya Latino Family Celebration, Citizens Businessperson’s Special and Independence Blue Cross Senior Stroll the Bases; Also, limited-edition Phillies-Angels matchup collectibles at the New Era Team Store

Come cheer on the Phillies as they host the Los Angeles Angels, August 28-30, for the only time this season at Citizens Bank Park. Here are some of the fan highlights during the final three games of the homestand:

1. On Monday, August 28, fans are invited to celebrate the Media Little League Team, the 2023 Mid-Atlantic Region champions who recently battled it out at the Little League World Series, as they take the field to be recognized by the Phillies before the 6:40 p.m. game. Plus, it’s Temple Health Strike Out Cancer Night!

  • Learn about cancer screening tests and get information about your cancer risk and prevention from Temple Health, who will be on site with free giveaways, raffle prizes and information at the First Base Plaza and Section 210.
  • Patient Phil Sanchez from the Fox Chase Cancer Center will throw the ceremonial first pitch, which will be caught by Fox Chase Cancer Center’s president and CEO Dr. Robert Uzzo.
  • Retired veteran Rodney Wyatt, who founded the nonprofit Salute 2 Service to help veterans reach their full potential, will change a base in the third inning as he is honored as a Rothman Hometown Hero.

2. Join the Phillies for their 21stannual Goya Latino Family Celebration on Tuesday, August 29, at that night’s 6:40 p.m. game!

  • Highlights include pregame performances by Jimmy Jorge Entertainment outside Pass and Stow and CSAN-II Jazz Salza behind Section 148! Plus, in-game entertainment by Escenia Latina, who will dance with the Phanatic in the 5th inning, and the Acaraje Drums will perform in the 7th
  • Plus, stop by the Left Field Plaza to sample snacks from Goya.
  • To help honor the Latino community, the event features a $6 discount off the regular price of tickets in select locations.

3. The Phillies close out the series with the 1:05 p.m. Citizens Businessperson’s Special on Wednesday, August 30, featuring a ceremonial first pitch by Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse! Plus, it’s the postgame Independence Blue Cross Senior Stroll the Bases!

  • Kids: meet one of the characters from the PAW Patrol at the Third Base Plaza pregame, who will also be dancing with the Phanatic in the 5th inning.
  • Fans 55 and older are invited to go onto the field to stroll the bases after the game! Directions to go onto the field will be shown on PhanaVision near the conclusion of the game.

4. Limited-edition Phillies vs. Angels matchup items at the Phillies New Era Team Store!

  • For this series only, fans will be able to purchase exclusive Angels vs. Phillies pins and a matchup pennant featuring baseball stars Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani, Bryce Harper and Trea Turner.

5. Also happening: Fans are invited to opt-in for MLB’s Go-Ahead Entry on the MLB Ballpark App, as well as bid on signed memorabilia during the Phillies Charities, Inc. Online Auction until August 30, at 6:00 p.m.!

  • Gate Openings: Gates open at 5:35 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday; and 11:35 a.m. for Wednesday’s game.
  • Broadcast: All three games will be broadcast on NBC Sports Philadelphia, 94 WIP and WTTM 1680, and will also be available on nbcsportsphiladelphia.com and the NBC Sports app. In addition, Monday’s and Wednesday’s games will be broadcast on MLB Network (out of network).
  • Access Tickets & More: Use the free MLB Ballpark app for your guide to Citizens Bank Park and to access tickets (including Sports Complex parking), forward tickets to friends, use the interactive concourse maps and enjoy games.
  • Mobile Ordering: Includes Manco & Manco @ Foundry Pizza, Miller Lite Liberty Landing, Pass and Stow and Shake Shack. Order your favorite menu items and skip the line when ordering through the MLB Ballpark App.
  • Bag Policy: Guests are prohibited from bringing bags, including backpacks, to the ballpark. Only clutch purses (5" x 7"), fanny packs, medical bags, drawstring bags, clear or solid tote bags and diaper bags will be permitted. Medical bags, tote bags and diaper bags can be no larger than 16" x 16" x 8". Guests may discard or return the prohibited items to their vehicle or store them in a locker on Citizens Bank Way ($10 fee).
  • Uber RideShare Lot: Lot T is designated for Uber RideShare for all Citizens Bank Park and Wells Fargo Center events. Fans should exit the Third Base Gate and walk along Pattison Avenue toward Broad Street to enter the lot and request a vehicle, which will meet each rider in the designated area.
  • Parking: Please click here for a parking map. Parking for Phillies games is cashless. Methods of payment include credit/debit cards and mobile payment (Apple Pay and Google Pay). To expedite entry, pre-paid parking passes may also be purchased prior to the game.
