What's Happening This Weekend at Phillies-Cardinals Series, July 1-3

Xfinity Fireworks Shows! Plus, John Kruk’s Cap Launch Meet and Greet, Debut of The Phanatic Saves the 4th Short Film and ESPN Sunday Night Baseball! Highlights include appearances by Betsy Ross, Phil & Phillis and more in honor of Independence Day; plus, PJP Cooling Headband giveaway for kids

On Friday, July 1, the Phillies will kick off their three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals at Citizens Bank Park. Here’s a look at all the promotions and fun surrounding the games, as well as other ‘know before you go’ information.

1. The series opens Friday with a 6:05 p.m. game and the first, must-see postgame Xfinity Fireworks Show of the weekend! But before the fireworks go off, get ready for another postgame treat, as fans get to watch the exclusive premiere of The Phanatic Saves the 4th, featuring surprise guest cameos. Plus, broadcaster and 1993 National League champion John Kruk will debut his newly designed cap at the ballpark!

  • From 2:00 - 3:00 p.m., Phillies great John Kruk will take part in a New Era Phillies Team Store meet and greet in honor of the debut of his personally designed New Era Cap, a Citizens Bank Park exclusive! Also, $5 from every cap purchased will benefit Phillies Charities, Inc.
  • Prior to the game, the Phillies will also honor and congratulate Cardinals’ first baseman Albert Pujols on his recent retirement announcement.

2. Children 14 and under will receive a PJP Cooling Headband at Saturday’s 4:05 p.m. game. Fans are also invited to enjoy the pregame fun at the Saturday Block Party presented by Budweiser at the Third Base Plaza, featuring entertainment by DJ HBK.

  • Plus, fans over the age of 18 will receive PA Lottery Coupons at the entrance gates upon arrival.

3. ESPN Sunday Night Baseball and Xfinity Fireworks Show to close the series at the 7:08 p.m. game. Plus, fans will be treated to some colonial fun in honor of Independence Day.

  • Be on the lookout for colonial Phillie Phanatic and other historical guests at the game, including Betsy Ross who will be in Ashburn Alley at Section 148, as well as former mascots Phil and Phillis.
  • All fans in attendance will receive a special MLB commemorative NFT along with an email on how to redeem this exciting promotion.
  • Also, the US Navy Drill Team will perform a drill demonstration pregame.
  • End the night with the spectacular Xfinity Fireworks Show and showing of the short film, The Phanatic Saves the 4th, following the game!

Other need-to-know information:

  • Safety guidelines: In accordance with the City’s safety guidelines, fans are strongly encouraged to wear masks in indoor spaces at the ballpark including the Diamond Club, retail stores, elevators and restrooms. Fans are reminded to bring their own mask if they will be at one of the previously mentioned areas at Citizens Bank Park.
  • Parking lots: Parking for Phillies games is cashless. Methods of payment include credit/debit cards and mobile payment (Apple Pay and Google Pay). To expedite entry, pre-paid parking passes may also be purchased prior to the game. Tailgating lots (M, N & O) will open 5 hours prior to first pitch and non-tailgating lots will open 3 hours prior.
  • Access Tickets & More: Use the free MLB Ballpark app as your guide to Citizens Bank Park to access tickets, forward to friends, use the interactive concourse maps and enjoy games.
  • Gate Openings: All gates open 90 minutes before game time.
  • To expedite entry: Guests are prohibited from bringing bags, including backpacks, into the ballpark. Only clutch purses (12”x 12” x 1”), fanny packs, medical bags, clear or solid tote bags and diaper bags will be permitted into Citizens Bank Park.
  • Broadcast: The games on 07/01 and 07/02 will be broadcast on NBCSP and available via live stream for authenticated subscribers on NBC Sports Philadelphia’s MyTeams app. The game on 07/03 will be broadcast on ESPN. All games will be broadcast on 94 WIP and WTTM 1680.
