Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Robert Fountain begins his fifth full season with the Texas Rangers, his second full campaign as Senior Vice President of Human Resources following a promotion in August 2024. This marks his 16th year working in professional baseball.
In his current role, Fountain leads the HR team responsible for people strategy, employee engagement, benefits administration, compensation, risk management, and employee life cycle management, including recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding of staff. He originally joined the Rangers in June 2021 as a member of the legal department after a decade-long tenure at Minor League Baseball and a 10-month stint at the United Soccer League. As Senior Corporate Counsel for the Rangers, Fountain provided legal guidance on a broad range of matters affecting both the baseball club and its ballpark, including commercial contracts such as sponsorships, venue use, and vendor agreements, intellectual property issues, Dominican legal matters, immigration, and more.
Outside the ballpark, Fountain can often be found coaching youth sports in Southlake, Texas, alongside his wife and four children.
