Dodgers recall Edwin Uceta

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled right-handed pitcher Edwin Uceta and optioned right-handed pitcher Andre Jackson.

Uceta, 23, returns for his seventh stint with the club and he is 0-3 with a 6.64 ERA (15 ER/20.1 IP) and 25 strikeouts in 14 games (one start) for the Dodgers. With Triple-A Oklahoma City this year, he was 1-3 with a 6.20 ERA (14 ER/20.1 IP) and 27 strikeouts in seven games (three starts). The Dominican Republic native has been with the Dodgers organization since signing as an international free agent on July 2, 2016. In parts of six minor league seasons, he has posted a 21-15 record with a 3.86 ERA in 84 minor league games.

Jackson, 25, tossed 4.2 innings, allowing one run on four hits last night as he suffered his first career loss. The Arizona native is now 0-1 with 1.04 ERA (1 ER/8.2 IP) and seven strikeouts. The former 12th round pick of the 2017 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Utah has split the season between Low-A Rancho Cucamonga, Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City and is a combined 5-2 with a 3.16 ERA (27 ER/77.0 IP) and 86 strikeouts.
