NEW YORK -- will return to the mound in Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Rockies for his sixth start of the season, carrying a 1-1 record and 2.67 ERA into that contest at Citi Field. Here’s what to know heading into his outing:

Last start: McLean was perfect through five innings for the second time this season and struck out a season-high 10 batters. But he ran into trouble in the sixth and seventh innings, allowing three runs to take a no-decision against the Twins.

Stat to know: Opposing hitters are batting .085 the first two times through the order against McLean and .348 the third time they see him.

What he said: “These guys are getting paid to play baseball for a living, too. So at the end of the day, I’ve got to just execute pitches a little bit better and maybe do a little bit more homework on how guys are adjusting to me. But I’ve got to execute better at the end of the day.”

Next opponent: McLean has never faced the Rockies, nor does he have any Major League experience against anyone on their active roster.
