On June 15, 2024, Snoop Dogg joined the Brewers broadcast booth for a home game against the Reds and initially doubted the arm strength of Elly De La Cruz on a weak infield grounder.
“Oh lord,” the rapper said after the Reds shortstop nailed a strike to throw out Brice Turang at first base, “he’s got a rocket in his pocket.”
Snoop might need to return to Milwaukee for Jesús Made’s eventual MLB debut and see what poetry the next phenom inspires.

The Brewers’ top prospect unleashed a 99.9 mph throw from shortstop in the third inning of Double-A Biloxi’s 7-2 win at Pensacola on Tuesday night, per data shared by the Pensacola broadcast booth.
The laser came on a bouncing ball from Dillon Lewis that took Made slightly to his right. He collected the ball, double-pumped and fired a bouncer that was scooped up by first baseman Mike Boeve to retire Lewis – who is considered a plus runner – for the final out of the frame.

The fastest throw recorded by a Major League infielder this season was a 96.6 mph seed from De La Cruz, back on April 9. The Reds star was the most recent MLB infielder to exceed triple-digits with a 101 mph throw on July 21, 2025, and before that, the most recent was Masyn Winn with a 101.2 mph on the Statcast gun on May 6, 2024. Rockies shortstop Cole Carrigg, who also sees time in center field, is the only Minor Leaguer to reach 100+ mph (101.3 mph in his case on March 29 with Triple-A Albuquerque) in Statcast games this season. (Note: Double-A does not have publicly published Statcast data.)
This is just the latest impressive feat for MLB Pipeline’s No. 3 overall prospect. Made is hitting .280/.380/.462 with two homers, 11 steals and a 122 wRC+ in 22 games with Biloxi. His 26 hits rank second in the Southern League.
Made began the 2026 season as the youngest player in all of Double-A. He’ll turn 19 on May 8.
