MIAMI – The Miami Marlins today announced the second class of its Marlins Legends Hall of Fame. The 2026 class includes World Series-winning pitchers Josh Beckett and Dontrelle Willis.
The Marlins Legends Hall of Fame was created last year to annually honor former players, coaches, managers, and staff members for their significant achievements and contributions to the organization and South Florida community. The inaugural Marlins Legends Hall of Fame class included Luis Castillo, Jeff Conine, Jim Leyland, and Jack McKeon.
Beckett and Willis will be honored in pregame ceremonies during the 2026 season. As part of the special festivities, fans will be able to take home one-of-a-kind bobbleheads of each honoree and take pictures with them in front of their plaques. These plaques will be featured in the Marlins Museum on the Legends Level (5th floor) behind home plate.
“Josh Beckett and Dontrelle Willis are two of the most iconic figures in Marlins history, and they are so deserving of this recognition,” said Marlins Chairman and Principal Owner Bruce Sherman. “Both played integral roles in shaping our franchise and delivered unforgettable moments on the field that brought joy to generations of fans in South Florida, we are thrilled to honor them this season as part of our Legends Hall of Fame.”
Beckett, a two-time World Series champion, three-time All-Star, and the 2003 World Series MVP with the Florida Marlins, is remembered as the ace who delivered a complete-game shutout in Game 6 to clinch the franchise's second title against the New York Yankees. He will be honored when the team takes on the Chicago Cubs on Sunday, September 6.
Willis, a two-time All-Star, 2003 NL Rookie of the Year, and World Series champion with the Florida Marlins, holds franchise records including most wins in a season (22 in 2005) and is celebrated for his iconic delivery and infectious energy that helped spark the 2003 championship run. The organization will recognize him prior to the game against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday, September 13.
Tickets are available at Marlins.com/Tickets for these games, along with the rest of the can’t-miss events and theme nights taking place this season. The fun begins on Opening Day when the Marlins host the Colorado Rockies on Friday, March 27 at 7:10 p.m.
