May 27: Phillies 3, Marlins 2 -- Home bittersweet home
Marlins right-hander Pablo López has yet to win a game at home this season, despite allowing just four earned runs in 36 2/3 innings over six starts at loanDepot park in 2021. López's 0.98 ERA at home is the lowest of any pitcher with five or more home starts this season. He has held opponents to two earned runs or fewer in each of his last 10 starts at home.

May 26: Marlins 4, Phillies 2 -- Díaz robbed of a homer
Isan Díaz had the lone barrel of the game, but Odúbel Herrera robbed him of a game-tying homer to straightaway center in the sixth. With a 100.2 mph exit velocity and a 30-degree launch angle, it had an expected batting average of .530.

May 25: Phillies 2, Marlins 0 -- Alcantara gets taken deep
Rhys Hoskins took Sandy Alcantara's 99.8 mph four-seamer deep in the fourth inning, making it the hardest-thrown ball the righty has allowed for a homer in his career. It proved to be the difference in the game.

May 24: Marlins 9, Phillies 6 -- Floro's first save
Dylan Floro recorded the first save of his big league career in his 167th outing, retiring Rhys Hoskins on a groundout that took all of four pitches.

Cody Poteet joined Jordan Yamamoto, his Sunday counterpart, as the only Marlins pitchers to go five-plus innings and allow four or fewer hits in each of their first three career starts. Poteet went a career-high seven scoreless frames, giving up three singles.

May 22: Marlins 3, Mets 1 -- Cooper's HR streak
Garrett Cooper homered in three straight games for the first time in his Major League career. Not only was it his first walk-off blast, but it was also the Marlins' first since Harold Ramirez on Aug. 29, 2019.

May 21: Mets 6, Marlins 5 (12) -- Detwiler's knock
With his leadoff single in the third, reliever Ross Detwiler collected his first hit since July 3, 2013, when he was a member of the Nationals. The hit to right against Marcus Stroman had an exit velocity of 96.7 mph. He advanced to second base on a single from Corey Dickerson but was tagged out at third on a forceout.

May 20: Marlins 6, Phillies 0 -- Brotherly love for Sandy
With Sandy Alcantara's six scoreless frames, he lowered his ERA to 1.03 in four career starts at Citizens Bank Park. That is his best mark at a road ballpark. Across 26 1/3 innings, Alcantara has struck out 27 and walked 10.

May 19: Marlins 3, Phillies 1 -- Birthday boy bash
With a leadoff homer in the second inning, Brian Anderson became the ninth Marlin to go deep on his birthday, and the first since Adeiny Hechavarría in 2015. Derrek Lee did so twice.

May 18: Phillies 8, Marlins 3 -- A frame to forget
Miami's bullpen allowed a season-high seven runs in the eighth inning. The last time the Marlins allowed seven or more runs in the eighth inning or later was when they gave up eight in the eighth against the Brewers on Sept. 15, 2017.

May 16: Marlins 3, Dodgers 2 -- Duvall's 93.2 mph throw
Adam Duvall's inning-ending throw from right field to home plate to prevent Mookie Betts from tying the game was clocked at 93.2 mph. That was Duvall's best assist of the season and his seventh-hardest clocked throw over the course of his career. It also tied the hardest outfield assist he has made in his career, with the other one coming on Oct. 1, 2016.

May 15: Dodgers 7, Marlins 0 -- Holloway's first career hit
Marlins starter Jordan Holloway singled in the third for his first career Major League hit. The single came against 2020 National League Cy Young Award winner Trevor Bauer, making Holloway the sixth pitcher since 2000 to record their first career hit against a reigning Cy Young winner. The last pitcher to do so was Archie Bradley, who got his first big league hit off of Clayton Kershaw on April 11, 2015.

May 14: Dodgers 9, Marlins 6 -- Smoked one
Cody Poteet, who won his Major League debut on Wednesday, lined out in a pinch-hitting appearance during the seventh inning. According to Statcast, the liner had the highest hit probability (84 percent) of any ball batted by a player whose primary position is pitcher that resulted in an out this season. The exit velo was 97.6 mph.

May 13: Marlins 5, D-backs 1 -- Rogers' heater gets results

Cody Poteet became the first right-hander drafted by the Marlins to win his Major League debut since Ryan Tucker (first round in 2005) on June 8, 2008. Poteet, a former fourth-round selection in 2015, allowed two runs on four hits with six strikeouts in five innings.

May 11: D-backs 11, Marlins 3 -- López's favorite pitch
Right-hander Pablo López turned to his changeup a career-high 45 percent of the time in a 4 1/3-inning start against the D-backs on Tuesday. López entered the outing with the second-highest usage among Major League starting pitchers (min. 100 total pitches).

May 10: D-backs 5, Marlins 2 -- Aguilar a road powerhouse
Jesús Aguilar's two-run homer in the eighth inning helped the Marlins avoid their fifth shutout of 2021. All seven of his dingers have come on the road. On the previous three-city, 10-game trip, he went deep six times to snap an 18-game homerless drought to open the season.

May 9: Brewers 2, Marlins 1 -- Sandy Alcantara allows hard contact
Daniel Vogelbach's solo homer in the fourth against Alcantara was the hardest-hit ball (114.3 mph exit velocity) off him in his career. The long ball was the lone run tabbed against Alcantara in his seven innings of work on Sunday.

May 8: Brewers 6, Marlins 2 -- Castano's costly home run
Rookie left-hander Daniel Castano surrendered a solo homer to Adrian Houser in the fourth inning, making it two straight starts Houser has taken him deep. Houser became the first pitcher to hit a home run off of the same pitcher in two separate games within the same season since Bronson Arroyo off Glendon Rusch (2006).

May 7: Marlins 6, Brewers 1 -- Rogers reliant on 4-seam
Trevor Rogers has relived heavily on his 4-seam fastball in his first seven starts of the season, tossing it more than 60 percent of the time. When he uses the pitch, it is effective. He leads MLB in 4-seam fastball strikeouts with 35 on the season.

May 6: Marlins 3, D-backs 1 -- Miggy's leadoff HR prowess

Miguel Rojas recorded his fifth career leadoff homer -- first since Sept. 19, 2020. Madison Bumgarner proceeded to retire the next 17 batters in a row before Rojas snapped that stretch with a two-out single in the sixth. Miami has two leadoff homers this season, the other coming from Jazz Chisholm Jr. on April 23 in San Francisco.

May 5: Marlins 8, D-backs 0 -- Duvall returns to HR column

Adam Duvall's three-run homer in the second inning snapped an 18-game homerless drought. That dates back to his two-homer game against the Braves on April 13. During that span, he was 9-for-63 (.143) with two extra-base hits and five RBIs.

May 4: Marlins 9, D-backs 3 -- Brinson's laser nabs Cabrera
Center fielder Lewis Brinson threw out Asdrúbal Cabrera trying to stretch a single into a double in the fifth inning. That marked the Marlins' eighth outfield assist of the season -- tied with the Red Sox for the most in the Majors.

May 2: Nationals 3, Marlins 1 -- Devers joins elite company
At 21 years and 146 days old, José Devers became the sixth-youngest Marlins position player to collect a hit with his infield single against Nationals ace Max Scherzer. Ahead of him are Edgar Renteria, Miguel Cabrera, Giancarlo Stanton, Luis Castillo and Robert Andino.
