NEW YORK -- For all the talk of Juan Soto and Francisco Lindor and calf injuries and a struggling offense, it’s worth noting there’s another player on a mega-contract featured in this Mets lineup.

, who has struggled to adapt to his new team in the early going, gave the Mets a signature moment with a go-ahead bases-clearing double in the eighth inning Thursday, lifting them to a 10-8 win over the Twins at Citi Field after Devin Williams got in and out of trouble in the ninth.

The victory was New York’s second in a row after losing 12 consecutive games.

Stuck in a tie game in the eighth after Craig Kimbrel loaded the bases and Huascar Brazobán allowed a game-tying grand slam, the Mets constructed a rally of their own on two hits and a walk. That brought up Bichette, who rocketed an Anthony Banda slider to the fence in left-center for a three-run double.

Bichette entered the game with just nine RBIs in his first 24 games.
