Mets first baseman Pete Alonso and White Sox outfielder Eloy Jiménez were named the Rookies of the Month for September on Monday.

MLB made the announcement Monday.

Alonso earns the National League Rookie of the Month Award for the third time this season after posting a .245/.322/.585 slash line with 11 homers -- his most in any calendar month all year -- over 27 games in September.

The 24-year-old slugged his 53rd homer of the season on Saturday to set a Major League rookie record.

Jiménez, meanwhile, takes home American League honors after crushing nine home runs and collecting 25 RBIs while hitting .340/.383/.710 over 24 games in September. After getting off to a slow start, the 22-year-old ended up eclipsing the 30-homer mark.
