Read our FAQ on this year’s revamped balloting format, which includes two phases of fan voting to determine the All-Star starters, and the ability to vote through Google Search.

MIAMI -- Giants catcher Buster Posey, who is batting .257 since being activated from the seven-day concussion list, has made the All-Star team in four straight seasons (six overall). Second baseman Joe Panik, a one-time All-Star, went deep on the first pitch of Tuesday's 11-3 loss to the Marlins, improving to .307 with seven doubles, two homers and 10 RBIs in his past 23 games.

Fans may vote in "The Primary" at MLB.com and all 30 club sites, the MLB At Bat and MLB Ballpark apps up to five times in any 24-hour period. Fans in the US and Canada can also vote on Google Search for every position, or up to 17 unique players per day, by searching "MLB Vote" or the names of their favorite players. Primary voting ends at 4 p.m. ET on Friday, June 21.

The top three vote-getters at each position (including nine outfielders) per league will move on to "The Starters Election," which begins at noon ET on Wednesday, June 26. The votes will reset for a 28-hour voting window that ends at 4 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 27. Starters for the 2019 Midsummer Classic will be unveiled on ESPN that night at 7 p.m. ET. The pitchers and reserves will be announced on Sunday, June 30, at 5:30 p.m. ET.

Then on Tuesday, July 9, during the 2019 All-Star Game presented by Mastercard, fans may visit MLB.com and the 30 club sites to submit their choices for the Ted Williams Most Valuable Player Award presented by Chevrolet.

Rotation change

Left-hander Drew Pomeranz, originally scheduled to start Thursday's series finale at Marlins Park, will instead open the weekend set against the Orioles on Friday at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

Thursday's starter for the 10:10 a.m. PT matchup has yet to be determined. Right-hander Dereck Rodriguez, who has been pitching out of the bullpen of late, is a possibility. Rodriguez went two frames upon his callup from Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday. Southpaw Derek Holland was another option, but he threw two innings in Tuesday's 11-3 loss.

"We're evaluating our options," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. "Tomorrow we'll be ready to announce a starter on the last day here."

What is known is that all of the bullpen arms will be available to pitch on Tuesday.

Injury updates

The Giants anticipate getting Trevor Gott (right forearm strain) back when the club is in New York from June 4-6 to face the Mets. On the injured list since Saturday, he is scheduled to throw a bullpen over the next couple of days.

Travis Bergen (left shoulder strain) has begun playing catch, but he won't return on Friday when he is eligible to return from the IL.

"Ideally, we'd like to get him at least a couple 'pens and ... a couple outings in Triple-A," Bochy said of Bergen.
