Promotions & Special Events
Below are some of the highlighted promotions and special events for the 2018 season.
Events
Home Opener: The Giants will begin their 60th year in San Francisco, 136th in franchise history, and 19th season at AT&T Park when they host the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday, April 3. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats no later than 1:00 p.m. for the Opening Day festivities. Ceremonies will feature the return of many Giants alumni who span all decades of San Francisco Giants baseball - from the first game played at Seals Stadium on April 15, 1958 to today. Players scheduled to participate include Hall of Famers Willie Mays and Willie McCovey, Vida Blue, John Montefusco, Chris Speier, Dave Dravecky, Duane Kuiper, Mike Krukow, Jeffrey Leonard, Robby Thompson, Marvin Benard, Robb Nen, Travis Ishikawa, Brian Johnson, Jeremy Affeldt, Dusty Baker and Barry Bonds. Local favorite Chris Isaak will perform the National Anthem. The Giants will also honor the late San Francisco Mayor Edwin Lee, who died unexpectedly in December. All past and present San Francisco mayors (The Honorable Diane Feinstein, Art Agnos, Frank Jordan, Willie Brown, Gavin Newsom, London Breed and Mark Farrell) will join Mayor Lee's wife, Anita, for this very special on-field tribute.
Bonds Number Retirement: On Saturday, August 11, the Giants will retire uniform number 25 and celebrate the career of Giants great Barry Bonds. In addition to a pre-game number retirement ceremony, the first 20,000 fans will receive a #25 cap. Bonds will join an elite group of New York and San Francisco Giants players as the 12th player to receive this honor. Bonds wore number 25 in his 15 seasons with the Giants from 1993-2007. He will join Orlando Cepeda (30), Juan Marichal (27), Willie Mays (24), Willie McCovey (44) and Gaylord Perry (36) as the sixth member of the San Francisco Giants to have his uniform number retired. New York Giants legends whose numbers have been retired include: Bill Terry (3), Mell Ott (4), Carl Hubbell (11) and Monte Irvin (20). Christy Mathewson and John McGraw - who both predated numbers on jerseys - have also received this honor.
Wall of Fame: On Saturday, July 28, the Giants will unveil two plaques on the team's Wall of Fame in honor of Matt Cain and Ryan Vogelsong. The Giants Wall of Fame serves as a living tribute to the organization's greatest players. It recognizes retired players whose records stand highest among their teammates on the basis of longevity and achievements. Those honored have played a minimum of nine season for the San Francisco Giants, or five seasons with at least one All-Star selection as a Giant. Bronze plaques honoring these players and their baseball contributions line the brick wall of AT&T Park along King Street for all Giants fans to enjoy. There are currently 49 other Giants legends who have received the Wall of Fame honor.

Technology
AT&T Wireless Upgrades: Continuing our tradition of off-season wireless connectivity enhancements, AT&T and the Giants are providing "more for your thing"-- connecting fans to the people, information and entertainment they care about. In one of the most extensive wireless upgrades in AT&T Park history, AT&T installed over 32 miles of fiber/copper cabling and leveraged existing under-seat WiFi infrastructure to enhance 97 cellular service sectors. This densification initiative effectively triples wireless capacity for AT&T customers at AT&T Park, enabling Giants fans to stay more connected than ever before.
Bon Appétit Point-of-Sale System Upgrade: In partnership with food service provider Bon Appétit, the Giants have completely revamped the AT&T Park point-of-sale system heading into 2018. Corona will be available for purchase in 16oz cans on all levels of AT&T Park.
Beringer: Beringer is known for establishing many 'firsts' as leaders in the wine industry. And pursuing balance between modern technology and time-tested winemaking traditions. Capital Improvements
Each season the Giants continue to make enhancements to AT&T Park to enhance the ballpark experience for our fans.
Bollards & Planters: In a continued effort to harden the perimeter of AT&T Park, the Giants have continued the implementation of bollards and planters in the past year to provide additional security and protection for fans from vehicular street traffic.
Expanded Netting: The Giants have joined all MLB Clubs this season in expanding the protective netting beyond the dugouts. Safety is the top priority at AT&T Park and the Giants have worked closely with MLB to implement their recommendations to enhance the safety and security of the fans. They have redesigned and expanded the protective netting to extend beyond the dugouts to Section 105 on the first base side and Section 126 on the third base side. This expansion builds on the successful implementation of a new netting system installed before the 2016 season. With the expansion system, sightlines have been improved by removing the remaining vertical support poles, in favor of much less obtrusive cables. The expanded netting was also designed to maximize the potential for fan/player interaction behind the dugouts and in the outfield.
Art Installation
The Giants Vault: A new exhibit space located just inside the O'Doul Gate entrance. The Giants Vault will feature rotating themed exhibits each season. In celebration of the Giants 60 years in San Francisco, the first exhibit will celebrate The Move West. Exhibits will be combinations of artifacts from collectors and the Giants archives as well as timeline wall displays. Stephen Wong and Rick Swig are the featured collectors for this exhibit. Lise Peters and Irene McLean have also donated items for this display. Artifacts include Willie Mays' 1957 jersey, last home plate from the Polo Grounds, Johnny Antonelli's 1958 jersey, 1958 OD Scorecard and Daryl Spencer's first home run in San Francisco ball, among others.
Alaska Airlines Club Gallery: The 25 display cases on the Club Level have been updated for the 2018 season. A variety of themes, all revolving around the Giants 60th anniversary are highlighted, including the Giants retired numbers, award winners and postseason berths. Some displays, like the Cy Young Award and World Series displays will remain for the entire season while others, like the Ballpark and All Star cases will be updated through the season to showcase the Giants history in San Francisco.
@Cafe: To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Giants in San Francisco, the Giants have added the "Hall of Bobbleheads", a display inside the @Cafe that will celebrate the history of Giants bobbleheads given away at Candlestick Park and AT&T Park. Along with a permanent display inside the @Cafe of all ballpark giveaway bobbleheads, there will also be a temporary display throughout the season that celebrates the many special event bobbleheads that Giants fans have grown to love. Inside the Hall of Bobbleheads, fans will learn the story of how the Giants helped start a new movement of the modern bobblehead by creating a Willie Mays Bobblehead in 1999 as part of the "Tell it Goodbye" celebration at Candlestick Park. The overwhelming demand and popularity of this bobblehead sparked many teams to also giveaway bobbleheads to their fans. When you visit the Hall of Bobbleheads, you will be greeted by a life-size recreation of the 1999 Willie Mays Bobblehead, suitable for a selfie.

Game Baseballs: For all home games, the Giants will use a 60th Anniversary logo baseball.

When it comes to baseball, it doesn't get more SF than the Giants.
The brand campaign, developed in partnership with the team's new creative agency, 215 McCann, includes outdoor elements and five 30-second spots titled 'If I Weren't a Player,' each featuring a Giants team member humorously and realistically conveying how even if he weren't playing on the team, he would still be a Giants fan.

Until There's A Cure 25th Anniversary: This season marks the 25th Anniversary of Until There's A Cure Day - a day devoted to raising awareness and funds for HIV/AIDS. The Giants and Until There's A Cure teamed up in 1994 when the Giants became the first-ever professional sports team to host an HIV/AIDS awareness game. Then Giants President and Managing General Partner Peter Magowan, All-Star relief pitcher Rod Beck, Manager Dusty Baker, shortstop Royce Clayton and Giants seven-time National League MVP Barry Bonds took an active role in supporting the cause. Each year since, the Giants have committed themselves to repeating the day until there is a cure. In partnership with the Giants Community Fund and Gilead Sciences close to $2 million has been raised for care and services for those living with HIV/AIDS in the Bay Area community. Throughout the years many Giants players have worn The Bracelet, Until There's A Cure's primary fundraiser for HIV and AIDS programs and causes, including Barry Bonds, Rich Aurilia, Benito Santiago, Tsuyoshi Shinjo, Reggie Sanders, Marquis Grissom, Bengie Molina, Tim Lincecum, Matt Cain, Pablo Sandoval, Brandon Crawford, Joe Panik, Hunter Pence, Public Address Announcer Renel Brooks-Moon and Hall of Famer Willie Mays.
