What’s Happening Labor Day Weekend at Citizens Bank Park: Phillies vs. Braves, September 4–7

Domestic Violence Awareness Night with Joe Torre Safe at Home and PCADV; GIANT Family Day with Block Party on Citizens Bank Way and two 102-year-old World War II veterans honored as Toyota Hometown Hero; Special pregame tribute in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Day, plus Kids Run the Bases, both presented by Nemours Children’s Health

Only two homestands remain for the regular season! Following the road trip, the Phillies are back in town for Labor Day Weekend, facing off against the Atlanta Braves for a four-game series. Here’s a look at the fan highlights:

1. The series begins with Domestic Violence Awareness Night at 6:40 p.m. on Friday, September 4. The Phillies will team up with PCADV and Joe Torre Safe At Home to raise awareness and help end the cycle of domestic violence and abuse.

Gate openings: 3B/LF 4:40 p.m.; all other gates 5:10 p.m.

  • Before the game, Baseball Hall of Famer and Safe At Home founder Joe Torre, along with Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence (PCADV) CEO Susan Higginbotham, will be joined by Phillies manager Don Mattingly on-field to bring awareness to the cause.
  • Fans are encouraged to donate basic necessities, including feminine hygiene products, diapers and pull-ups, wipes, toiletries, laundry detergent and books, at the entrance gates to support Women Against Abuse. Donors will receive a special ticket discount voucher for a future Phillies game.
  • Representatives from PCADV and Safe At Home will be at the First and Third Base Plazas with information and resources.
  • Prior to first pitch, Miller Lite 12 oz. cans will be available at Miller Lite Liberty Landing for $6.99. The first 250 fans to purchase through this deal will receive a Phillies- and Miller Lite-branded beverage wrap.
  • Phillies and Citizens Bank Park employees of the month for August will be honored on-field before the game.
  • A Cadillac vehicle will be on display at the Third Base Plaza through the weekend. Plus, sample GHOST® Energy drinks before the game inside the Left Field Plaza, and postgame while exiting the Left Field Gate.
  • “Steak” your claim with the Phils’ Steak Hat Bundle presented by Philly’s Best Steak Company. The first 4,000 fans to purchase tickets through this event will receive a voucher for an exclusive cheesesteak-themed hat.

2. On Saturday, September 5, at 6:05 p.m., it’s GIANT Family Day. Children 14 and under will receive a Squeeze Bottle.

Gate openings: 3B/LF 3:35 p.m.; all other gates 4:35 p.m.

  • From 3:00–6:00 p.m., head to Citizens Bank Way for the GIANT Family Block Party featuring facepainting, balloon artists, rock climbing, a dunk tank, yard games, Phillies alumni photo opportunities, music from DJ N9NE, and appearances from the Phillies Ballgirls and Phillie Phanatic. Plus, giveaways and tastings from Phillies partners.
  • The area’s top young sluggers and winners of the Phillies Home Run Derby championship presented by Tastykake, which will be held earlier that morning at Citizens Bank Park, will be honored on-field.
  • Clearwater Mayor Bruce Rector will throw a ceremonial first pitch.
  • Enjoy the pregame Budweiser Block Party with DJ HBK at the Budweiser Batter’s Eye Bar behind Section 148.
  • At the end of the 3rd inning, Sam Graveno, a 102-year-old World War II veteran from Downingtown, Pa., will be honored on-field as that night’s Toyota Hometown Hero.

3. On Sunday, September 6, at 1:10 p.m., it’s the 10th annual Childhood Cancer Awareness Day presented by Nemours Children’s Health. Children 14 and under will receive a Phillies Rope Hat.

Gate openings: 3B/LF 10:40 a.m.; all other gates 11:40 a.m.

  • Be in your seats by 12:30 p.m. for a special pregame tribute honoring childhood cancer warriors and their families. Click here for event highlights, including a Lineup of Courage, ceremonial home run, a giant gold ribbon in center field and more.
  • Participants include those receiving treatment from Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware, as well as those affiliated with Kisses for Kyle Foundation.
  • At the end of the 6th inning, fans will be invited to raise gold ribbon prints (distributed at the entrance gates) in recognition of the fight against childhood cancer.
  • Enjoy complimentary face painting at The Yard and King Swings Playground until the 3rd inning. Plus, Visit Viriginia will be at the Third Base Plaza with a photo op, giveaways and travel information.

4. Following the 1:05 p.m. Citizens Businessperson’s Special and series finale on Monday, September 7, children 14 and under are invited on-field for Nemours Children’s Health Kids Run the Bases.

Gate openings: 3B/LF 11:05 a.m.; all other gates 11:35 a.m.
