The Phillies are back in town for a three-game series against the division rival Miami Marlins to start the homestand! Here’s a look at the fan highlights surrounding this week**:**
*1. The series begins on Monday, August 17, at 6:40 p.m. Before the game, the Phillies will host an on-field Salute to Champions, recognizing local youth baseball teams that reached their state championships and above.
**Gate openings: 3B/LF 4:40 p.m.; all other gates 5:10 p.m.*
- Salute to Champions honorees include Upper Perk 12u Tomahawks, Naamans Little League, Dock Mennonite Academy and Neshaminy Skins.
- Phillies Nike RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner-Cities) All-Stars will also be recognized on-field before the game.
- As part of Temple University Night, Temple coaches will be at The Yard to meet with fans and hand out giveaways. Plus, Temple will have interactive inflatables set up on Citizens Bank Way.
- Fans can learn about cancer screening tests and get information about cancer risk and prevention with Fox Chase Cancer Center at the First Base Plaza, as well as the mobile cancer screening unit on Citizens Bank Way.
- Tony DiMattia, a Temple Lung Center double lung transplant recipient, will throw a ceremonial first pitch.
2. Your game ticket is your concert ticket for the Flo Rida Postgame Concert presented by Jim Beam, following the 6:40 p.m. game on Tuesday, August 18.
Gate openings: 3B/LF 4:40 p.m.; all other gates 5:10 p.m.
- Jim Beam will be in Ashburn Alley distributing coupons for fans 21 and over for the Jim Beam Cocktail Bar, redeemable for one single shot cocktail or a small Liberty Lemonade.
3. The series concludes on Wednesday, August 19, with the HBCU Celebration *at the 6:05 p.m. game.**Gate openings: 3B/LF 4:05 p.m.; all other gates 4:35 p.m.*
- As the Phillies celebrate the legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, there will be four ceremonial first pitches, including: Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church Senior Pastor Reverend Dr. Allyn E. Waller; former Philadelphia Eagle & Delaware State Head Football Coach DeSean Jackson; FOX29 “Good Day Philadelphia” co-host Alex Holley; and 1983 NLCS MVP and 2026 Negro Leagues Baseball Museum Hall of Fame inductee Gary “Sarge” Matthews. Catching will be 1993 National League champion and 2008 World Series champion coach Milt Thompson.
- Before the game, stop by Pass & Stow for a mixer, which will include live entertainment including a step show, dance performance and drumlin showcase. Plus, at the Third Base Gate, HBCU schools and local community vendors will be on-site with information for prospective students.
- At the end of the 3rd inning, the Honorable Rochelle Bilal, the first African American woman elected as sheriff in the 343-year history of the Philadelphia Sheriff’s office, will be honored on-field as that night’s Toyota Hometown Hero.
4. For this homestand only, Johnny’s Pizza in Bryn Mawr, Pa., will be offering its Classic Cheesesteak with Onions at Coca-Cola Corner by the Left Field Plaza.
