Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher has received a three-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for intentionally throwing at of the Cincinnati Reds during the top of the seventh inning of Saturday’s game at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Major League Baseball announced Tuesday. Michael Hill, MLB’s Senior Vice President for On-Field Operations, made the announcement.

Unless appealed, the suspension of Devenski is scheduled to begin Tuesday night, when the Pirates are to begin a road series with the Arizona Diamondbacks. If Devenski elects to appeal, then the discipline will be held in abeyance until that process is complete.

In addition, Pirates manager Don Kelly has received a one-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for Devenski’s intentional actions. Kelly will serve his suspension tonight in Arizona.
