ARLINGTON -- The Rangers have promoted Corey Ragsdale to the Major League staff as field coordinator, the club announced Monday. Ragsdale replaces Jayce Tingler, who was hired as the Padres’ manager.

Ragsdale was the Rangers’ Minor League field coordinator the past four seasons and was also manager at Class A Advanced Down East in 2019. He was the Carolina League Manager of the Year after leading the Wood Ducks to an 87-52 record.

Ragsdale will oversee the Rangers’ infield and baserunning instruction. Third-base coach Tony Beasley will be in charge of the outfielders.

"Corey has done an amazing job in our Minor League system and has a good understanding of our expectations and process at the Major League level," Rangers manager Chris Woodward said. "He exemplifies what we value from a staff member: high character that understands the value of positive leadership among a relentless desire to make those around him better. He is an extremely talented coach and will be a very impactful coach and leader for us."

The Rangers also added Rob Fumagalli to the Major League staff as assistant strength and conditioning coordinator. He spent the last 10 seasons with the Mariners, including six as their performance specialist coordinator.

The Rangers also promoted Ross Fenstermaker to senior director of pro and international scouting. He will be entering his 11th season with the Rangers, including the last two as director of pro scouting. Mike Daly had been in charge of international scouting but will focus on his duties in player development.

• Napoleon Pichardo has been promoted to director of performance for the Minor Leagues. He will oversee strength and conditioning, medical, mental skills, nutrition, and sports science in the club’s farm system. This will be his 16th season in the Rangers’ farm system.

• Logan Frandsen has been named Minor League strength and conditioning coordinator, Jono Arnold has been promoted to pitching coordinator and Cody Atkinson has been hired from the Reds as hitting coordinator.

• Outfielder Leody Taveras, ranked by MLB Pipeline as the Rangers' No. 5 prospect, is leading the Dominican League in hitting after 20 games. Taveras is hitting .375 with Águilas Cibaeñas.
