O's prospect Irish posts best game of pro career with 2 homers, 6 RBIs

July 20th, 2026

The Orioles’ first-round pick from a year ago just put together the biggest game of his young professional career.

, the 19th pick in the 2025 Draft, collected four hits and six RBIs on Sunday -- both career-highs. It was also the second multi-home-run outing of his career, helping High-A Frederick to a 17-6 victory over Greenville at Fluor Field.

Irish’s first knock came in the third inning. He dribbled a two-out grounder toward first base, beating the defense to the bag on a play that featured a collision between Irish and Greenville second baseman Maximus Martin. Staying in the game, Irish then scored Frederick’s first run on a Creed Willems double.

Irish then hit his first long ball to start a five-run fifth for the Keys. The O’s No. 2 prospect and MLB Pipeline’s No. 79 overall turned on a pitch for a two-run shot to right field.

Irish then looped a single into center field in the sixth, plating another run. The powerful lefty homered again in the seventh, this time a three-run job. He deposited this one over the wall in left-center field.

In total, Irish went 4-for-7, collecting the 14th and 15th homers of his strong 2026 season. The first baseman/catcher is also on quite a heater, hitting safely in five straight games, including four multi-hit games. The 12-for-26 stretch has boosted his season slash line to .279/.383/.511.

Frederick teammate , the 31st overall pick in 2025, also posted four hits on Sunday, including two doubles. It was his second four-hit game this year, and he’s on a seven-game hit streak of his own. The shortstop (BAL No. 6) is batting .447/.526/.723 in July.
