Sept. 30, 2018, vs. White Sox: Mauer's send-off
A 1,858-game career came to an emotional close at Target Field, as hometown hero wrote a fitting end to his story by donning the catcher's gear one final time for a pitch in the ninth inning from Matt Belisle. Also fitting? Mauer, second on the club's all-time list in doubles, hit one in the final plate appearance of his career.

Sept. 14, 2019 (Game 2) at Indians: Sanó (grand) slams the door
The Twins could just about secure the American League Central with a doubleheader sweep, albeit with a fairly significant obstacle: They needed to deploy bullpen games in both halves of the twin bill. Minnesota got it done with a gutty team effort in Game 1 and a Game 2 comeback that included a back-breaking grand slam by to cap a five-run, eighth-inning rally.

April 18, 2018, vs. Indians: Heroics in Puerto Rico
The two-game set between the Twins and Indians at Hiram Bithorn Stadium in San Juan, Puerto Rico, would have made for a special homecoming for and no matter what, but this game pushed things over the top. Berríos dominated over seven scoreless innings before the game plunged deep into the night, setting the stage for Rosario to score the walk-off run on a Ryan LaMarre single in the bottom of the 16th.

Sept. 7, 2019, vs. Indians: Garver in the clutch
This was certainly not American League Silver Slugger Award winner 's most impressive multihomer game in his breakout 2019 season (that goes to his two-homer game against Jacob deGrom), but it was certainly the most impactful. With the Indians pushing for a late surge in the division, Garver went deep in the first and later crushed a go-ahead three-run shot in the seventh that sent Target Field into pandemonium.

Aug. 5, 2019, vs. Braves: Sanó walks it off
It's stunning that a record-breaking season of 307 homers involved only one walk-off blast, but it was a dramatic one indeed. With two outs in the ninth, Sanó blasted a Chris Martin pitch so high and far over the batter's eye that Atlanta center fielder Ronald Acuña Jr. didn't even bother waiting for it to land before he started jogging in towards the dugout.

Aug. 13, 2019, at Brewers: Marwin puts Twins back in first
The Twins led the AL Central by 11 games on June 15. By their off-day on Aug. 12, the Indians had clawed all the way back to edge Minnesota by a half-game in the division. In the Twins' next game, they coughed up a late lead to the Brewers, only for to answer back with a go-ahead three-run homer off bullpen ace Josh Hader in the eighth inning. It pushed the Twins back into first place -- this time, for good.

July 15, 2018, vs. Rays: Dozier's walk-off slam
Extra innings? Check. A benches-clearing argument? Yep. Another benches-clearing disagreement? Better believe it. Lead changes just about every inning from the seventh on, including a run-scoring balk and a bases-loaded walk? Mhmm. So of course, after all that craziness, the Twins pulled out a 10-inning win in the grandest way possible: a walk-off grand slam by Brian Dozier.

July 23, 2019, vs. Yankees: Dramatic slugfest for the ages
Sure, the Twins lost this game, but it was immediately clear that it would endure as an instant classic as soon as things finally came to an end with Aaron Hicks' diving, game-saving catch that prevented a Twins walk-off after 10 innings, 26 runs and 35 hits in a breathtaking five hours and three minutes. In another world, this might have been the signature game of Sanó's career thanks to a pair of clutch homers, but it ended up being just another subplot of one of the craziest regular-season games in recent memory.

Sept. 5, 2019, at Red Sox: Rosario's 'walk-off assist'
A pitchers' duel between and Nathan Eovaldi ultimately came down to one play in the ninth. With the Twins clinging to a 2-1 lead, J.D. Martinez crushed a two-out double off the Green Monster at Fenway Park, and Rafael Devers came chugging around from first base trying to tie the game. Except Rosario perfectly played the carom off the wall and fired a one-hop strike to the plate to record the final out with his right arm.

April 20, 2019 (Game 2) vs. Orioles: Meet the 'Bomba Squad'
There were many other games that could have rounded out this list -- dramatic comebacks, walk-off hits, stellar individual performances -- but where better to finish than the night it first became obvious that the "Bomba Squad" had a different kind of game-breaking power potential? The Twins went deep eight times in this game, tying a franchise record that had not been touched for 55 years. Oh, and they did it again five weeks later.

And here are some other games from around the league you might like:

Aug. 17, 2019: Brewers 15, Nationals 14
Christian Yelich homered -- No. 40 -- as part of a three-homer, four-run ninth inning for a 12-11 Brewers lead, only to see the Nationals come back to tie it up against Josh Hader. Yelich homered again in the 13th for a 13-12 lead, only to see the Nats come back again. Finally, in the 14th, the Brewers scored twice and this time held off another Nats surge.

June 27, 2019: Dodgers 12, Rockies 8
The Dodgers overcame a shaky Coors Field start from Walker Buehler (seven runs) with a six-homer onslaught -- two by Max Muncy -- for their 12th consecutive win over Colorado.

July 25, 2019: Orioles 10, Angels 8
The Orioles and Angels had been engaged in a marathon, 6-hour, 16-inning, back-and-forth affair when things went from simply weird to historic. That's because of who closed the game -- outfielder Stevie Wilkerson, who recorded a 1-2-3 bottom of the 16th throwing nothing but mid-50 mph floaters to record the first save by a position player in MLB history.

July 12, 2019: Rangers 9, Astros 8
The Rangers scored five runs in the last three innings to erase the Astros' 8-4 lead. The Rangers hit five home runs in this game, including three off Astros starter Gerrit Cole.

June 23, 2019: Pirates 11, Padres 10
Former manager Clint Hurdle called this “one of the best wins that I’ve watched in nine years here,” and it was a wild one. Down three in the ninth against a closer who hadn’t blown a save all season, the Pirates rallied to force extra innings. Down three again in the 11th, they battled back -- and then all of a sudden rookie shortstop Kevin Newman was at the plate, working a walk-off walk to cap the Bucs’ fourth straight win.
